Easy to access with a lot of historic appeal, it is a must for history buffs. Also a visit to the old market place with the churches and old city wall will leave a good impression.

I had a glorious sunny day to stroll the sight. I love history, so this was a great location to stop. I am not sure children would enjoy it, as there is not a lot to see. There are no English translations in the little museum or even on signage or in a brochure, so for anyone non-German, what you see is what you get. Be sure to stroll on the grass to peek behind the pines. Photogs will enjoy the photo stop. Unfortunately, there is a lot of construction so most photos will have scaffolding in them. It really is amazing to walk the ruins and think of those that walked before, hundreds of years ago.

The Kaiserpfalz, the ancient palace of the German emperors in the medieval times, is a great place to visit. Of course, after more than 800 years the building isn't complete anymore but the outer walls give a great idea of the former shape. Worth a visit! Please bear in mind the opening times (Tue - Sun, 10 - 17 (summer time) and 10 - 16 (winter time)). Prices: adults 3,50 EUR, children 1,50 EUR.

Nice little museum (exhibition could do with a modernization) and a great palace complex, the best preserved of its kind. Fair entrance fee. Definitely worth a look.

Nice complex. Emperor Barbarossa once ruled from here. it is considered to be the best-preserved I read. There is a small museum attached.
