Gary H. Gardner Jr., 57, of Merrill, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh.
Born on Feb. 11, 1964, in Malone, N.Y., he was the son of Gary H. Sr. and Judy (Boyea) Gardner. They predeceased him.
He was married to Tracy LaPoint on July 22, 1989, in St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain, by Rev. Wiley. Gary graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone. He worked for twelve years as an environmental specialist at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, before retiring in 2001 due to health reasons. He was a communicant of St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain.
Gary is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tracy of Merrill; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dustin and Jennie Gardner of Plattsburgh, Austin Gardner of Merrill; three sisters, Vickie Valencourt of Plattsburgh, Tammy Malegon of Malone and Lori Plowman and her companion, Andy of Pulaski.
Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain, on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at 10 a.m.
Burial will be held in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Lyon Mountain.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
