I hadda hear this album. Fanfare is a kind of synth version of "Also Sprach Zarathustra." Sound on the album is mid-'80s country pop. Sounds like songs that might have been demo-ed for Barbara Mandrell at the period, but subpar. Lead guitar guy's sound reminds me of hearing Tammy Wynette's "Another Chance," and Tanya Tucker's "Can I See You Tonight." Three songs show LaToya's publishing. Cover songs are Elvis's "Burnin' Love," Kenny Rogers's "So In Love with You" from 1981 (written by Lionel Ritchie), "Crazy," and an excruciating version of "Boots" ("These Boots Are Made For Walkin'"). David Briggs gets a song credit on "Break A Leg," and he was one of the session guys on this. David Briggs's musician credits are all over Barbara Mandrell albums from the '80s. There are a few rocker line dance songs here, but they sound unfinished. Overall sound is 2nd or 3rd tier country indie, like those bottom 25 45s from before Billboard's 1992 chopping off the bottom of the Country Singles charts.

Liner notes on this EU budget album don't list musician credits. La Toya Jackson sounds like she's channeling early '70s Olivia Newton-John when she was country.

I think this CD is actually very good. So underrated.
