When Johann Friedrich Von Sachsen I was born on 30 June 1503, in Torgau, Kreis Torgau-Oschatz, Saxony, Germany, his father, Johann "the Constant" de Wettin Keurworst von Sachsen, was 35 and his mother, Sophie von Mecklenburg-Schwerin Electoral Princess von Saxony, was 21. He married Sibylle von Jülich-Kleve-Berg on 9 February 1527, in Kreis Torgau, Saxony, Germany. They were the parents of at least 4 sons. He died on 3 March 1554, in Weimar, Thuringia, Germany, at the age of 50, and was buried in Wittenberg, Province of Saxony, Prussia.
