Wheel of Fortune contestant stuns Pat Sajak by winning with 'lucky guess'

A Wheel of Fortune contestant shocked and stunned the audience, viewers at home, and even Pat Sajak for winning a puzzle with a 'lucky guess.'

Wheel Of Fortune narrowly misses out on jackpot

Wheel of Fortune contestant stunned audience members, viewers at home, and even the hit ABC game show's long-time host Pat Sajak for winning a puzzle with a "lucky guess."

A contestant named Scott won big once he guessed the puzzle correctly.

"Well, he's been a good puzzle solver, that's for sure," Sajak said once Scott guessed the letter O, which the puzzle had two of.

"Let's see how he does with this one," the host continued. "It's a phrase. You have 10 seconds to try and tells us what's up there. Good luck."

As the timer counted down, Scott first guessed "PICK AT THE OPPORTUNITY."

Then, he said: "PACK AT THE OPPORTUNITY," until he guessed correctly: "JUMP AT THE OPPORTUNITY."

Sajak interupted excitedly, even a little stunned: "That's it. Nice job, Scott! I like that! That was good. And he's got a car!"

The host opened the envelope to reveal that Scott had won a new Chevy, to which excited him greatly.

Scott also walked away with $52k.

Last week, Sajak and viewers were not impressed with another contestant named Randy, who pushed his luck by spinning more than he needed to to solve an obvious puzzle.

During a six-word prize puzzle "What Are You Doing?" Randy landed on a $3500 wedge and correctly guessed an “N” of which there were four, and a “G” from a Wildcard wedge, giving him $17,000.

Then he bought an "A" before the show's long-time host, Sajak joked he “certainly had the money for it."

Randy also bought an "E" of which there were three.

But Randy kept spinning and just barely missed a bankrupt as the crowd gasped, and Pat said: “No sweat!”

He then bought a “D” - three more - and Pat said; “This is getting out of hand, Randy. What do you want to do?”

Randy kept going, buying an “O,” and a “U” taking all of the vowels.

However more spins came and once more he just barely missed a bankrupt to buy an “F."

Fans realized that the puzzle was nearly solved and would be “Unwinding At The End of The Day.”

Yet, Randy kept spinning, just missing a bankrupt by one wedge - again - as Pat laughed: “You keep flirting with danger.”

The contestant picked a "T" and, strangely, despite only two letters blank, spun again as Pat joked again: “Room despair this time."

Randy picked an "H" and spun yet again, this time to his dismay as he ran into a “Lose a turn," resulting in a huge loss.

The next player, Cornita, looked stunned and instantly solve it as “Unwinding At The End of The Day."

Pat the said: “Now, Randy has been a terrific player all evening and you sit at home wondering how could that happen? But it does, sometimes theres a word that doesnt come into focus.”

Instead, Cornita won the trip to Costa Rica and the episode.

Fans were not pleased with Randy or his technique or lack thereof.

“Randy’s wife is gonna curse his a** OUT when he sees her," one X user wrote, while another added: “Did he not know the puzzle? #wheeloffortune."

"Randy you damn fool!!" wrote a third.
