Buddy F Sublime film that takes place the summer of 1944 in America during the height of WWII. Excellent performances from the ensemble cast led by Eric Stoltz. Beautiful music, costumes and all the period details, and a wonderful script exploring the effects of war on soldiers and citizens alike. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/18/24 Full Review William W Very good, never thought it would end the way it played out. Both the wife and I watched it. Not many movies we enjoy together Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/24 Full Review R T I saw this wonderful film when it was in theaters. I just rewatched it on Peacock and was so moved again! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/08/23 Full Review Mary C A beautiful, timeless film based on a powerful true story during WWII! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Heart warming. I enjoyed this movie very much. Loved the pictures of the real people being played in the movie. Great movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review richard c Nicely made independent movie touching on a subject seldom discussed in U.S. history books: POW camps on U.S. soil. This based-on-a-true-story tale nicely portrays semi-rural and military life in the Midwest during World War II. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Bill Goodykoontz Arizona Republic "Fort McCoy" is an obvious labor of love. That doesn't make it a good movie, but it's a nice sentiment all the same. Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 11, 2014 Full Review Sheri Linden Los Angeles Times The period details are so lovingly burnished in this uneven, if heartfelt, feature that for a while they threaten to overpower the story, which delves gently into a rarely explored aspect of the war. Aug 14, 2014 Full Review Karsten Kastelan Hollywood Reporter A heartfelt, personal film with great performances aims for the stars and falls back to earth. Aug 13, 2014 Full Review Steve Erickson L.A. Weekly If the film has a major flaw, it's the profusion of subplots in a 100-minute running time. Still, it is a real accomplishment. Sep 22, 2014 Full Review Kevin Jagernauth The Playlist Writer and co-director Kate Connor's debut feature "Fort McCoy" is an example of what happens when you try to shoehorn as many topics and themes from WWII as you can into one movie.
