Florian Wirtz has been one of the names that have been circulating in the market for quite some time. The 21-year-old creative midfielder has been one of the finest in the Bundesliga as he led his side Bayer Leverkusen to win the trophy in the 120-year club history. Wirtz has been in excellent form in the ongoing season. The German forward started impressing the fans at the U-18 level for his country at the European Championship in Hungary and Slovenia at the U21 Euros. 

In 2019, the attacker, who had previously established himself as part of Germany's junior setup, led Koln's U17s to the Bundesliga. The attacking midfielder, since then, has been one of the brightest upcoming stars in the world. He is having a dream run at such a young age, Wirtz in the 2023/24 season has scored 18 goals and provided 19 assists. In 2022 he had a major injury as he tore his anterior cruciate ligament and after 10 months he returned to the side. Since then he has never turned back.

The German international made his debut in 2021 for the national side however did not get many chances in the early stages of his career. Having established himself he will surely be a first choice in the upcoming Euros 2024 that is scheduled to take place in Germany. In his last game for the side, he scored a goal as well against France. With a few more games left, he will surely look to add more to his tally. The club has also decided not to sell the forward despite transfer interest from several clubs. 

Leverkusen in the verge of making a new record

Leverkusen are in 47 match unbeaten run as Xabi Alonso's side after winning the German league are in contention of winning two more trophies in the season. They are in the final of the DFB Pokal and already ahead after the 1st leg of the UEFA Europa League semi-final against AS Roma whom they defeated 0-2 away from home. 

Alonso's side have the chance of winning the treble in the season and create some amazing records. The German club are on the verge of breaking the record of Arsenal's 2003/04 unbeaten record of 49 games with three games left in the Bundesliga one game at DFB Pokal and two matches left in the Europa League.
