Shocking moment female presenter collapses on air during live TV show in Colombia as co-host rushes to her aid

This is the shocking moment a female Colombian TV presenter collapsed on the studio floor in the middle of a live broadcast.

Elianis Garrido suffered the medical episode while co-presenting the show Lo Sé Todo (I Know Everything) on the state-owned Canal 1, in Colombia.

In dramatic footage from the broadcast, 35-year-old Elianis is seen holding her face as her co-presenter speaks, before suddenly falling off her chair and on to the floor.

As she hits the ground, the studio springs into action. A man who had been standing behind the cameras is shown throwing his papers to the floor as he runs over to his colleague's aid, leaning down to check on her.

Co-presenter Ariel Osorio quickly gets to his feet and calls for an ad break before also rushing over to check on his colleague.

The footage captured on the overhead camera jumps some moments ahead to show five more people - including her co-presenter - gathered around the prone Elianis, helping her in to the recovery position.

After Elianis was rushed to a medical centre, Ariel told viewers that she had suffered 'respiratory problems.' In a direct address to her mother, who always watches the show, he said: 'Everything is fine, Eli is perfect.

'She is finishing up some security protocols and she is fine, don't worry.

'She will call you soon, we will tell you what is happening with Eli.'

Meanwhile, TV presenter María Fernanda Romero claimed that Elianis had been feeling poorly for several days due to changes in the climate.

María added that she had been suffering with a bad cough before passing out.

According to local media, the presenter is recovering well.

Elianis has yet to speak publicly about the incident. The popular presenter has a following of 6.2million people on Instagram and 673,000 on Facebook.

It happened on 16 March, two days before American weather presenter Alissa Carlson Schwartz, 47, fainted live on CBS LA, in the US.

The Los Angeles meteorologist was about to start her weather forecast on Saturday morning when the colour suddenly drained from her face, her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she fell with a jolt to the ground.

The former Mrs. California has since posted on social media that she is 'going to be ok' and said she was thankful it wasn't her heart this time.

Carlson Schwartz was referring to being diagnosed in 2014 with a leaky heart valve, which was discovered after she had thrown up in the middle of a TV broadcast.

Just hours after collapsing on air Saturday morning, Carlson Schwartz posted an update on her Facebook page around 2.30pm, writing: 'Thanks for all the texts, calls, and well wishes. I am going to be ok!'

On Sunday, she continued to update her viewers on her Instagram stories along with photos of well wishes, flowers and gifts, writing that she was out of the hospital and recovering.
