Marilyn Monroe. The queen of Hollywood’s Golden Era. From hot pink gowns to an iconic white dress flying towards the sky over a subway grate, Marilyn Monroe is easily the most iconic woman of 20th Century Hollywood. Her undeniable sex appeal and star quality still has as much influence today as it did then, and her image can still be seen in major cities around the world. She has left a recognizable stamp on fashion, film and female empowerment. However, her life was not entirely glamourous. Marilyn’s doctors stated that she had been "prone to severe fears and frequent depression" with "abrupt and unpredictable mood changes”. Her constant battle with fame, mental health and stress would cause addictions to medication and barbiturates. A fatal addiction that would eventually take her life.
