Grian (born: August 9, 1993 [age 30]) (pronounced Gree-an[14]; formerly Xelqua) is a British Minecraft YouTuber who made huge success after uploading a video titled 5 Easy Steps To Improve Your Minecraft House. He also loves taking pictures of his cats, Maui and Pearl.


Childhood

Grian was born on August 9, 1993, in England. At the age of 7, however, he relocated to Japan,[15] and he later moved to the United States of America because of an invitation from his friend, Samuel Gladiator (Samgladiator), where he attended the 3A Public High School Academy High School in Little River, Texas.

At a very young age, Grian wanted to be an actor.[16]

Grian's Wife

Grian and his long-time girlfriend got engaged in August 2019. The YouTuber posted two Instagram photos announcing the proposal: One showed the gorgeous sea and blue sky that provided a romantic backdrop for the special moment, and the other showed the engagement ring on Grian's fiancée's finger. They married in summer 2020.

Personality

Minecraft

Grian has a special Minecraft Building style, which he calls "Grian Style"[29], it's a much more detailed and variated than Mojang (the developer's of Minecraft)'s style.

Grian's Redstone skills are not very good, as he's said it himself several times, but he can often make contraptions work, but they are often a complete mess or "put together with duct tape".(Reference Needed)

He likes blowing things up with TNT (as evidenced from Evolution SMP).

Grian's personal favorite in the Mob Vote was Mob B (Phantom).[30]

The World of Arkus

The World of Arkus (or Minecraft: The World of Arkus) is an SMP founded by Grian in 2016, Grian supposedly cancelled the SMP in the same year it was founded.

Minecraft Evolution

Minecraft Evolution (commonly referred to as Evo) was the first major SMP that Grian created, the SMP lasted 51 episodes.[31]

HermitCraft

HermitCraft is the first SMP that Grian didn't help create nor did he create it himself, he joined HermitCraft in Season 6 on July 19th, 2018.[32]

Life Series

The Life Series was originally an experimental series that was founded by Grian. It is a survival multi-player (SMP) in which the player has a set number of lives (usually 3) until they are out of the series. Each season has is own twist that makes it harder. series that has 5 seasons (3rd Life, Last Life, Double Life, Limited Life, and Secret Life) and also an unofficial, one off episode called "Real Life" as a 2024 April fools prank. The seasons vary in episodes depending on the mechanic. The longest series is tied with Secret Life and Third Life, and the shortest being Double Life with only 3 episodes.

Vacations

Mega Vacation

Grian went on a "Mega Vacation" in 2016 with his girlfriend (now wife), he uploaded a vlog about the experience, on the vacation Grian travelled to: Slovenia, Venice, Montenegro, Croatia, Greece, and Turkey.[33]

Slovenia

Grian went on a trip to Slovenia in 2017, he went to go skiing, Grian also published a vlog called Grian Goes Skiing.

Japan (1)

Grian went on a trip to Japan one year prior to his second trip[34][35], not a lot is known about this trip.

Japan (2)

Grian went on his second trip to Japan in May 2017[36], he published a vlog of the trip on August 4, 2017. In Japan, Grian visited Tokyo (mainly the East Side[37]) and pet a total of 6 Shiba Inus[38].

Sweden

Grian went on a trip to Stockholm, Sweden in 2017, as he was invited to Minecraft HQ[39]. He also made a vlog of his time in the country.

Iceland

Grian went on a trip to Iceland in 2018 with some friends, he also recorded a vlog of his time in the country.

Norway

Grian went to Norway starting February 15, 2019[40] and ending February 20, 2019[41], he kept most of this vacation private, like not sharing his location and not making a vlog about it, this is the second vacation Grian skied on.

He possibly hired a car and drove to where he was staying, because his plane landed after the last bus to said location.[42]
