Audience Member I was really intrigued with the premise, but some of the supporting cast fell a little short. Main character, played by Desmond Askew, was amazing and I made it through to the end only because I felt that he really was being watched and followed...probably plotted against. Didn't quite understand what was going on with the dog the whole time...maybe that was just me. I did find some parts quite amusing and loved the ending...would recommend only to a very patient movie lover. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't quite understand this movie. I know he was going nuts, but I couldn't figure out what happened to his dog...did he even have a dog? Any who, I love the fact that Desmond Askew looks alienish, and thought he played insane well. Ed Gonzalez Slant Magazine Fabled not only lacks contemporary and spiritual resonance but a satisfying closer. Rated: 2.5/4 Dec 27, 2004 Full Review Scott Weinberg DVDTalk.com If watching a guy go slowly insane for 88 minutes sounds interesting to you, Fabled might be right up your alley. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 5, 2006 Full Review Andy Klein Los Angeles CityBeat This debut feature from writer-director Ari Kirschenbaum has a lot more style than substance. Mar 24, 2005 Full Review Ernest Hardy L.A. Weekly Opening with a portentous quote from Kafka, writer-director Ari Kirschenbuam's Fabled quickly reveals itself to be a hyper-stylized flick, but the glossy sum effect is that of a film student straining for a weightiness he can't pull off. Mar 10, 2005 Full Review Timothy Knight Reel.com Too superficial to stay with you.
