      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

The Undoing is a beautifully shot mystery that benefits greatly from Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant's performances - if only its story was as strong as its star power.

Hannah Giorgis The Atlantic Indeed, the show seems to relish the disorder that the Frasers cause in other people's lives, the pain they mete out. Throughout it all, the family remains static: glamorous, somehow still in control. Mar 2, 2021 Full Review Deborah Ross The Mail on Sunday (UK) It was a fun ride, and a swanky ride, and a grippingly involving ride -- whodunnit?, who? -- even if it was ultimately silly. Rated: 4/5 Dec 7, 2020 Full Review Willa Paskin Slate It was a bumpy flight that wound up in a dingy parking lot. Dec 1, 2020 Full Review Zosha Millman Bustle Like the seemingly perfect lives of its characters, it doesn't hold up under scrutiny. Sep 1, 2021 Full Review James Walton The Spectator These two are so good, in fact, that it's not easy to tell whether The Undoing is properly great or just a run-of-the-mill thriller with a brilliant casting director. Either way, though, I can't wait to find out what happens. Jul 19, 2021 Full Review Daniel Seddon NME (New Musical Express) All in all, this is a must-watch piece of telly that boasts two of the year's most compelling leads in Jonathan and Grace. WendyLSchmidt P The subject, rich woman and their difficult lives of social pressures and troubled marriages does seem to be a subject David E. Kelley prefers as of late. But here's is the thing. There were A LOT of closeups of Nicole Kidman. I mean, even when she was supposed to be suffering she looked far too pulled together. I couldn't get past the long, perfectly coiffed hair and the upper forehead that never seemed to move. Do NY therapists never wear their hair back or in a low ponytail in an effort to look professional during sessions? When facial rejuvenation distracts from performance it's time to take a good look at what is going on. The comparison of Grant, who is less than 10 years older than Kidman is kind of ridiculous but also is a good example of how much pressure the business puts on women to look young. Still, it's on older actresses to stop the craziness. By all means, look good, but look your age. Even models have bad days when their hair is a mess and they go without makeup. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/07/23 Full Review RyDawg084 Was hooked early and loving it but I felt like it started to drag episode 4-6 and I thought the ending was whatever. I dont watch miniseries often and did enjoy this mystery Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/12/23 Full Review honey b It was so hard to believe Nicole Kidman's character was surprised, shocked, sad, angry, etc because her face can't move with all that botox. It got really uncanny valley and at one point I thought her face was AI. Also, this could have been three episodes, easy. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/15/23 Full Review Gareth v A beautifully shot suspense that is let down by it's predictablity. Grant & Kidman are good enough without ever stepping out of their comfort zone. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/24/23 Full Review Craig W I loved it. Hugh Grant is a little off, but Kidman is sensational. Love the girlfriend. What a woman!!! It took us a long time to figure out who done it. Sutherland continues to make great movies. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/20/23 Full Review Monica G La serie es muy buena. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
