I had somewhat low expectations when purchasing this CD, but it was cheap for a new copy, I figured it was worth the risk. Well, I was quite pleasantly surprised. This is Everclear's first, and only, live record, recorded in 2010 in Seattle, WA. Art's voice actually sounded pretty good in this recording, and the sound quality overall is much better than that of a couple other "Extended Versions" I've purchased in the past. The band sounds great, (the back-up vocals aren't as strong as the original lineup), however, the instrumental parts are quite good. There are some nice riffs, and these guys jammed very well together.
All in all, every track is pretty strong. I was blown away by AM Radio. I didn't think it'd translate well live on a record, but this version really rocked. Heroin Girl had that old-school Everclear gritty feeling to it, and was another pleasant surprise.
Bottom line, this is the strongest effort from the new Everclear lineup I've heard yet. Far superior to their studio album from last year, which I thought was a very weak effort. Gives me hope that this summer's new album of all new material is going to be some great stuff.
