Expressions Art Competition
We're inviting artists of all skill levels to share their COVID-19 experiences through art.
Submission requirements
Age categories
- Adult: 18 years and older
- Youth: between the ages of 8 and 17
Accepted artwork
Accepted artwork mediums include only paints (for example, acrylic, oil, watercolour, ink, spray paint, gouache) or drawing media (such as charcoal, conté, graphite, pastel). It should illustrate at least one of the following:
- A celebration of strength, resilience, and effort during COVID-19.
- A portrayal of all aspects of the pandemic.
- The artist's individual and collective experiences.
Selection process
- A juried panel will select 10 submissions from each category.
- Selected submissions will be featured on peelregion.ca for public voting.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 submissions in each category.
- Adult. Grand Prizes of $700, $500, and $300
- Youth. Bramalea City Centre or Square One Shopping Centre gift card prizes of $100, $75, and $50.
Competition timeline
- May 16 to June 5, 2022 – Competition open
- June 5 at 11:59 p.m. – Extended submission deadline
- June 16 – Jury selections completed
- June 20 to July 4 – Public voting
- July 8 – Winners informed
- July 21 – Awards Ceremony at PAMA
How to submit artwork
Only one submission per artist.
Send an email to infopama@peelregion.ca that includes:
- A high-resolution digital image of the artwork
- Submission category
- Artist's full name
- Parent or guardian's full name and contact information (Youth category only)
- Title of the artwork (if applicable)
- Artwork's dimensions
- Artwork medium (paint or drawing)
