Eva Bartok Actress born in Budapest Hungary and died in England.
Eva Bartok was born Eva Ivanova Szoke and began acting in 1950, a strikingly beautiful brunette, who had good camera technique and a memorable presence in films. Her last credited film appearance was in 1966.
She is best known for a polished and charismatic acting performance, which she always delivered, her best known films are..Blood And Black Lace, The Crimson Pirate, Operation Amsterdam,Ten Thousand Bedrooms,SOS Pacific,A Tale of Five Cities, Venetian Bird,Park Plaza 605,Spaceways and Doctor In Stalingrad.
During the Second World War Eva was forced to marry a Nazi Official Geza Kovacs. The alternative was to be deported to a Concentration Camp with her mother. After the War this marriage was annulled on the grounds of coercion of a minor.
Eva had four other marriages which all ended in divorce.Eva also had a much publicized affair with David Mountbatten, the 3rd Marquess of Milford Haven for several years.

Bill Wordsworth 1952 - 1955.
Curd Jurgens. 1955 - 1956.
Dag Moline 1980.
The most notable being to German actor Curd Jurgens with whom she had co-starred in many German films.

By the late 1960's Eva Bartok decided to retire from acting to pursue other interests. This was at a time when some very talented film directors were entering the business.
Eva Bartok would have worked well with the French New Wave film directors - but she declined all work offers to pursue her other interests.
A general view in the Film Industry is that Eva Bartok did not fulfil her true potential and was a far better actress than many of her peers at that time.
In the final years of her life, Eva lived in a Hotel, in Paddington, London,England. Here she lived a quiet life,alone and contented with her own company, an intelligent woman, an exceptional actress who had a very gentle nature and a smile, which could capture your heart.
