Ernest Vernon Reinhard Sr., 84, longtime resident of Medford, Minn., died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at the Homestead Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.

Services are set for Monday, March 30, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the Medford Funeral Home, 310 E. Central Ave.

Interment at Owatonna Memorial Gardens.

Friends may greet the family on Sunday, March 29, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Medford Funeral Home and one hour before the time of services on Monday.

He was born on Oct. 11, 1924, in Owatonna, the son of Vernon and Albina (Kubicek) Reinhard. They had twin sons, Ernest and Erwin.

He grew up in the Rice Lake Park area and attended Owatonna High School. Ernest married Anna Butler at the Associated Church in Owatonna. He worked on the farm shelling corn and baling hay. He worked at the local block plant in Medford and OMC in Owatonna, both for 10 years. He later worked for the City of Medford for 14 years and retired in 1980.

He enjoyed deer/duck hunting, fishing, trapping, drawing, playing cards, bowling, horseshoes, Medford Straight River Days, grandchildren, and two great-grandsons, Weston and Porter John. He was an honorary member of the Medford Fire Department and Medford Gun Club.

He is survived by Ernest Jr. (Dyann), Shane, Erin and Brent Reinhard of Medford; Della (Stephen), Stephen Jr., Hailee, Mehgan Hansen of Orange, Calif.; Gary (Barb), Sam and Ellie Jo Reinhard of Faribault; Jean (Shannon), Ryan and Brianna Wilson of Owatonna; twin brother, Erwin (Betty) Reinhard of Owatonna. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors of Medford. He will be missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna; and infant twins.

Arrangements are being completed by the Medford Funeral Home.
