Reading winger Femi Azeez’s future is in the balance with his contract due to expire amid interest from home abroad.
Along with clubs in the EFL, Azeez, older brother of Arsenal midfielder Miguel, is being targeted by Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles and Portuguese outfit FC Famalicao.
Paul Ince’s Reading have already lost the likes of Josh Laurent and John Swift following the expiry of their deals this summer with fellow midfielder Andy Rinomhota also in line for a free transfer move to ambitious Cardiff.

And the interest, particularly from Go Ahead Eagles and Famalicao who believe Azeez could become another English youngster to flourish abroad, is now presenting an obstacle to the Berkshire club’s hopes of retaining the 21 year-old.

He enjoyed a breakout year making 14 appearances, scoring twice having been handed his Royals debut towards the end of the previous 2021/22 season.
Following a disappointing 21st place finish last season, Reading have added to their squad with the singings Tom Ince and Joe Lumley.
The Royals will open the new season with a trip to Blackpool on July 30 before hosting Cardiff the following week.
