Our highly experienced and specialist team of expert case managers and expert witnesses remain at the forefront of their area of clinical expertise. Supported by our office team they provide an exceptional level of service to legal teams and individuals alike.

CASE MANAGERS

Kate supports the team in a senior role. She qualified as a physiotherapist in 2001, working at several London teaching hospitals. In 2007 she commenced work as a specialist neurological case manager managing complete and incomplete spinal injuries, amputation and multi-trauma orthopaedic injuries. Kate is highly knowledgeable, with a positive approach, helping clients to adjust to the challenges their injury presents and supporting their emotional, as well as medical, and physical needs.

BASED IN CHESHIRE
Graduating in 1999 as a physiotherapist, Lauren expanded her skills to include spinal cord, acquired brain and multi-trauma injury rehabilitation. She held the position of Operational Manager in a rehabilitation facility for medically complex, neurologically injured individuals. Lauren is experienced in liaising closely and positively with clients and their families, support workers, therapists, medical and legal teams to coordinate and improve care and rehabilitation. Working as a senior case manager, Lauren understands the needs of the litigation team, coordinating with solicitors on both single and joint instruction cases under the Rehabilitation Code. Her specialist experience naturally led her to commence medico legal work as a care and rehabilitation expert.

BASED IN HAMPSHIRE

Elizabeth qualified as a nurse in 2004, and worked as a senior staff nurse in spinal cord injury. Since 2013, Elizabeth has worked as a case manager, supporting legal and medical teams and managing support workers. She has worked with individuals with spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury and multi-trauma, including amputees.

In 2021 Elizabeth qualified as an Advanced Case Manager and began to further her skills as a care and rehabilitation expert.

Lisa has worked as an occupational therapist since 1997, within the NHS at specialist rehabilitation units and in the independent sector. She has worked with those who have sustained a wide range of conditions including complex brain injuries, multi-trauma injuiries, amputation and spinal cord injuries. She developed particular skills as a hand therapist and has worked as a specialist case manager since 2018, coordinating and improving all aspects of an individual’s care and rehabilitation needs.

Having worked in healthcare since 2004, Sian qualified as a Nurse in 2010 and has continued to work extensively within the NHS and private care sectors developing her skills in critical care, general wards and home settings.

Sian has developed a deep understanding of what is required in order to provide a holistic approach to treat individuals and address their needs as affected by catastrophic injury.  She supports the team as an assistant case manager since becoming aware of the industry whilst working as a care expert.

Emma leads the team in the delivery of exceptionally high quality work. Having qualified as an occupational therapist in 1997, gaining experience in the NHS including at the London Spinal Cord Injury Centre, she commenced working in independent practice as a case manager and care and rehabilitation expert in 2007. Emma has extensive experience of working with individuals who have sustained spinal cord injuries, amputation, burns and other complex catastrophic injuries.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Emma qualified as an occupational therapist in 1996, specialising in spinal cord injuries since 2000. She has developed particular expertise in seated postural management and optimisation of upper limb recovery through handling skills, assistive technologies and splinting. In 2023 Emma was awarded a Royal College of Occupational Therapists’ Merit Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution and commitment to the profession, positive influence, high professional practice standards and invaluable work at a national level.

Whilst continuing to work as team lead at the London Spinal Cord Injury Centre, Emma commenced working as a rehabilitation expert in 2019.

Elizabeth qualified as a nurse in 2004, and worked as a senior staff nurse in spinal cord injury. Since 2013, Elizabeth has worked as a case manager, supporting legal and medical teams and managing support workers. She has worked with individuals with spinal cord injury, acquired brain injury and multi-trauma, including amputees.

REGISTERED NURSE

Eloise qualified as an occupational therapist in 1999, and worked in various neurological positions until 2015 when she became the head occupational therapist at a multi-disciplined neurorehabilitation unit. She has specialist skills working with those who have sustained a spinal cord or brain injury, particularly in the management of upper limb neurological loss, transferring her skills to case management and as a medico legal care and rehabilitation expert since 2020 .

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Qualifying as an occupational therapist in 1998 Christa has gained extensive experience at a senior level providing rehabilitation and disability management to adults with a wide range of complex medical and neurological conditions. She has specialist skills in upper limb neuro and amputee interventions and has provided both in-clinic and home-based training and therapy for upper and lower limb amputees .

She has an excellent understanding of how challenging the needs of catastrophically injured individuals can be as well as the needs of the litigation team through her work as an OT since 1999, a case manager since 2007 and care and rehabilitation expert since 2022.

Joy has worked in customer service and business development since graduating with BA (Hons) Business Management in 1998.  She has gained extensive experience in a variety of industries including telecommunications, retail and construction.  Joy takes on new projects, researching and collating information from start to completion and is key to developing company policies, processes and procedures which are specifically tailored to Emma Way Associates activity in particular ensuring full compliance with CQC.

COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Kerry joined Emma Way Associates as Operations Manager in 2021 and is responsibile for their internal operations and processes. Since graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Urban Land Economics, Kerry has gained a wealth of experience in the areas of business and finance, as well as people management, IT and Office Administration, working at management level within the financial services and property sectors at a number of small and medium enterprises.

Emma has over 12 years of administration experience gained in the property sector as well as healthcare. Emma’s knowledge in HR, finance, office management and organisation enables Emma Way Associates to run smoothly, ensuring our clients, their employees and our associates are well supported. 

Emma completed her Level 3 HR Support apprenticeship in 2023 and, in doing so, achieved Associate CIPD membership status.
