Emily Elizabeth Howard is the deuteragonist of the Clifford the Big Red Dog franchise.
She is voiced by Grey DeLisle in the original PBS animated series and re-dubbed by Joanna Ruiz in the UK re-dub and by Hannah Levinson in the animated reboot. In the 2021 live-action film, Emily was portrayed by Darby Camp.
Personality and Bio[]
Emily Elizabeth is kind and considerate for her friends. She is also pretty peppy. Emily is Clifford's owner as well as his best friend, having adopted him when he was a small puppy. Her love caused his enormous size resulting in them having to leave their Pembroke Home for a new home in Lumberton. She is nine-years-old.
Emily is known to be a very good skater and also great at soccer.
Appearance/Other attire[]
Emily usually wears a school uniform which consists of a long-sleeve pink shirt with a black skirt and black and pink striped knee socks and black school shoes. In the summer, she wears a butterfly light t-shirt, white shorts, and sandals. In the movie and the Christmas version, the black things in her outfit are purple. In Clifford and Elizabeth, she wears a pink short-sleeved button shirt, brown belt, tan jean shorts, white socks, and brown hiking boots.
Sometimes, if she's near the ocean, at the pool, or giving Clifford a bath, she would often wear a blue and white swimsuit.
In the books and in the animation Emily is represented as a little girl with short and blonde hair, but in the live action movie she is a 12-year-old girl with brunette or brown hair what is braided in a ponytail.

- She was named for the daughter of author Norman Birdwell and based on the imaginary adventures of Bridwell's wife, Norma.
- Emily has a different voice in the British re-dubbed version of Clifford the Big Red Dog. She is voiced by Joanna Ruiz.
- Emily is voiced by Joanna Ruiz in the UK version while Grey DeLisle voiced him in the US version.
