She married Peter III Fedorovich Romanov - Karl Peter Ulrich von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp Emperor of Russia on 1 September 1745, in Saint Petersburg, Russia. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. She died on 17 November 1796, in Saint Petersburg, Russian Empire, at the age of 67, and was buried in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
