Montreal

Recommended by Kristin from Global Travel Escapades

Why: Visiting Montreal again is on my bucket list because it exudes the perfect mixture of big-city and small-town vibes, there’s an incredibly diverse culture, and the city has an abundance of things to do! One of the luxury vacation destinations that’s a perfect place for everyone.

Best Way to Get there: The best way to get there is to fly into the Montreal-Trudeau International Airport.

Top things you’ll be doing: Next time I visit, I hope to boat across the lake in Mont-Royal Park and do a few runs through the park at sunset. I’d also love to spend more time exploring the inside of the Museum of Fine Arts because there are simply too many pieces to view in a single day!
Other unique things to do: In Vieux Port, I’d love to do the short zip line just to see the area from a different angle. In addition, I hope to walk most of Montreal’s Underground City which stretches for miles.

Luxury accommodations: For a luxury experience, I recommend staying at Hotel Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, which is the heart of downtown Montreal. Close to everything making this a must on your list of luxury vacation destinations.

Restaurant/food places that are of interest: Since Montreal is famous for its bagels, I suggest trying to get your hands on some. The most popular bagel place is St. Viateur’s, and they are worth the lines!

Waikiki, Hawaii

Recommended by Sharyn from Live Work Play Travel

When I was growing up my dad worked for an airline. For about 10 years in a row we went to Waikiki, Hawaii for a holiday. Why? Because we just loved it! After some 20 years of not visiting, I’m due for a visit to Waikiki and this is why it is top of my bucket list for luxury vacation destinations.

As Hawaii is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean surrounded by water the best way to get there is by plane, though there are some cruise lines that visit. You will land at Honolulu International Airport which is just a short drive to the famous beaches of Waikiki.

As I haven’t been for a while, I plan to revisit all the touristy things first. Have a surfing lesson at Waikiki Beach. Hire a car and drive around the island. Pay my respects at Pearl Harbour. Shop till I drop at the Ala Moana Centre and visit the markets on the streets of Waikiki. And sit on my balcony after a day at the beach, with a cold drink in hand, watching the sunset over Waikiki Beach.

I plan to eat at wherever takes my fancy from fast food to fine dining. One thing I will do is enjoy a luau with traditional Hawaiian cuisine and dancing. Hopefully this will be at one of the best hotels lining Waikiki Beach such as the Hilton Hawaiian, Outrigger Waikiki or the beautiful pink Royal Hawaiian. Hopefully, I will be staying at one of these too. I cannot wait for August to come along!

Maui, Hawaii

Recommended by Jessica from Uprooted Traveler

Maui is one of the perfect luxury vacation destinations to mix adventure with relaxation, offering some of the world’s most stunning beaches, epic hiking trails, and countless wildlife viewing opportunities.

The best way to get there is to fly into Kahului Airport on the eastern side of the island.

Top things you’ll be doing: During the cooler months, Maui is one of the best places in the world to see humpback whales, given these majestic creatures migrate here to breed and raise their young. I’m excited to go on one of the best whale watching tours in Maui to see these gentle giants in action- I’ve been before and watching a mother humpback whale teach her calf how to breach is nothing short of incredible!

I’m also excited to drive the Road to Hana, a 65-mile road that snakes through some of the lushest rainforests in the world, past waterfalls, black sand beaches, and dramatic cliffs. I drove along this road before but didn’t appreciate how many incredible stops there are along the way. This time around, I’m carving out enough time that the Road to Hana deserves, so I can make more stops and make the most of the experience.

Some other unique things to do: One of the most unique things you can do on Maui is take a helicopter tour through the West Maui mountains. These enormous green cliffs, jutting from the Earth, look straight out of Jurassic Park and I’d love to zoom by towering waterfalls as they cascade into the valley, hundreds of feet below. This alone makes it one of the top luxury vacation destinations in the world.

Luxury Accommodation Options: The Four Season Maui at Wailea is one of the most gorgeous resorts I’ve seen, with an adults-only infinity pool overlooking the ocean, beach access, and impeccable service.

Restaurants/Food Places that are of interest: Mama’s Fish House, in the hippie town of Paia, is known for serving up thoughtful dishes, crafted from fresh and local ingredients- just be sure to make a reservation early, as this oceanfront restaurant is popular!

Los Angeles, California

Recommended by Josh from A Backpackers World

My dream holiday is to visit Los Angeles. It is without a doubt top of my bucket list! The city is famous all around the world and I associate it as one of the top luxury vacation destinations, due to the abundance of celebrities and influencers who are lucky enough to call LA their home. Having visited Rome for the first time this year, I have begun to tick off some bucket list destinations. I want to visit Los Angeles because it appears to be a place larger than life, a place where history has been created, stories have been made, and I am sure I would leave with memories to last a lifetime.

Of course, flying into LAX would also be an incredible experience. It’s arguably the most famous airport in the world after all. There are so many “must-do” things in Los Angeles that I would of course tick off my list. The infamous Hollywood sign, Griffith Observatory and Santa Monica Pier to name a few. LA is also the inspiration for the map on GTA V, a game I played religiously growing up. So, to be able to explore these locations in real life would be a cool time for sure.

As well as exploring the main attractions, there are a few unique things I would like to do such as visit the Sunken City. It’s the remains of part of the city from a landslide in 1929, seems pretty unique! I’m also looking forward to eating at République Cafe. Friends who visited LA told me how absolutely delicious it is, and the Google reviews seem awesome too. A luxury hotel close to LAX in Santa Monica is the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows.

LA is one of my top vacation destinations, I want to visit in 2023. I can’t wait to book my flights!

Las Vegas, Nevada

Recommended by Anu from Destination Checkoff

Las Vegas is a popular destination in Nevada, USA that promises world-class luxury in accommodations, dining, experiences, and shopping. Making it one of the most luxury vacation destinations in the world. Every major luxury brand in the world will have its presence in Las Vegas. For luxury travelers, this is a bucket list item. Even though I have been the Las Vegas several times before, it is still on my list for 2023.

The best way to get to Las Vegas is by flying to the Las Vegas International Airport. You can fly to Las Vegas from most major cities in the world making it very easy to get here. From the airport, I usually take a cab to go to my hotel in the famous Las Vegas Strip area, where all the brand-name casino hotels are.

My favourite activity in Las Vegas is shopping. There are some grand shopping hubs here like The Grand Canal Shoppes at Venetian and The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace which have the top designer brands from all over the world. Taking a helicopter tour of the Las Vegas Strip area is also a popular activity to do here that I look forward to. I plan to watch a couple of trending shows, as Las Vegas is home to some of the best Cirque du Soleil shows. Las Vegas has top celebrity chef restaurants like Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen and offers great fine dining options.

Aria Resort and Wynn Resort are just two of the upscale resorts at this luxury travel destination, with great locations on the Strip. They both have a wide range of restaurants, shopping, and nightclubs to enjoy.

New York City, New York

Recommended by Kelly from Travel New York Now

Without a doubt, New York City is one of my favourite travel destinations and should be on everyone’s list of the best luxury vacation destinations for your bucket or “DO” list.

I mean, not only are there a ton of unique things to do in NYC, but it is an iconic city that is home to some of the best restaurants and hotels in the world. So, if you want to pamper yourself then this is the place to do it.

So, if you want to visit for yourself, I highly recommend that you fly into JFK. Once there, just grab the air train and take that to Jamaica Station. From there, hop on the LIRR (Long island Railroad) and take that to Penn Station.

Upon arrival, you can easily use the subway or grab a cab since you’ll be in Midtown Manhattan.

Now, if you’re looking for a luxurious experience, you can start with a helicopter ride over the city. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience that is not to be missed. Next, enjoy a sunset dinner cruise through New York Harbor before enjoying Sleep No More at the McKittrick Hotel,

It is seriously the most unique immersive theatre experience I have ever had and is a fun retelling of the classic, MacBeth.

And for the ultimate meal, dine at Le Gratin or immortal chef Daniel Balloud’s restaurant inside the stunning Beekman Hotel, This is also a great place to stay since the building is historic and features some of the most jaw droppingly beautiful architecture I’ve ever seen.

However, if you’re looking for a slightly more low-key meal, stop by Veselka in the Ukrainian Village, It’s basically like this chill Ukrainian diner where you can get great borscht, pierogies, and cheese blintzes.

Kiawah Island, South Carolina

Recommended by Taylor from Brown Eyed Flower Child

Kiawah Island, South Carolina is one of the most incredible luxury vacation destinations that should be added to your bucket list. Located less than an hour from Charleston, Kiawah Island is a famous golf resort that boasts 10 miles of white sand beaches and breathtaking marshlands. From the shops to the spas and the sports facilities to the incredible dining scene, there are things to do on Kiawah Island for all to enjoy!

The best way to get to Kiawah Island, South Carolina, is by flying into Charleston International Airport and renting a car. It takes around 45 minutes to drive from the airport to Freshfields Village, considered the downtown area.

During a vacation to Kiawah Island, the best hotel is The Sanctuary. It’s a luxury, 5-star oceanfront hotel on Kiawah Island. Another great hotel to stay at is Andell Inn, a 4-star, modern luxury hotel situated in the heart of Freshfields Village.

Another reason why Kiawah Island is one of the best luxury vacation destinations is because it boasts an incredible dining scene. Enjoy different toasts, homemade donuts, and great coffee at Java Java for breakfast. Cantina 76 features fantastic tacos for lunch, or if you’re looking for healthy options, check out Café Eugenia! The top restaurants to eat dinner in Freshfields Village are Hege’s Restaurant, which offers incredible seafood dishes to savour, and Forty-eight Wine Bar & Kitchen.

The best things to do in the Kiawah Island area are to enjoy the PGA golf courses, cool off in the stunning infinity pool that overlooks the beautiful marshlands at the Marsh House, relax at the beach, and bike ride around the island.

Kiawah Island also has The Co-op, a frosé (frozen rosé) bar. You can enjoy different flavors at this spot and take frosé to-go! Lastly, visit Palmetto Scent Studio to create a personalized candle to remind you of your time on Kiawah Island.

30a, Florida

Recommended by Roshni from The Wanderlust Within

Known as the “Hamptons of the South”, 30A in Florida is one of the luxury vacations destinations not to miss. Worth visiting alone as it is one of the most luxurious beach destinations in the USA.

30A is located along the Florida Panhandle and is only a 30min drive along the coast from Panama City Beach which has its own airport, Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP).

There are 26 miles of pristine powder white sand beaches, split into 16 different neighbourhoods, all with their own personalities. Each neighbourhood offers diverse activities from boutique shopping to art galleries and local distilleries.

However, some of the most unique things to do include scuba diving a mile off the coast of Santa Rosa beach and exploring the free “Underwater Museum of Art”, or stand-up paddle boarding on the coastal dune lakes (only found in a handful of places in the world). If you’re a movie buff, then one of the beach neighbourhoods, Seaside, was used as the real life filming set for the 90s film, “The Truman Show” starring Jim Carrey.

There are plenty of places to stay in 30A, including the famous Pearl Hotel in Rosemary Beach for couples, or the Hotel Effie in Sandestin. For food and drink, make sure you head to Ovide for fine dining, Airstream Row for street food, and Ara Rooftop for cocktails at sunset.

Mexico

Cabo San Lucas

Recommended by Daria from Explore Baja California

Why: Cabo San Lucas is one of the ultimate luxury vacation destinations for travellers located on the southern end of the Baja California Peninsula. It’s home to some of the best luxury hotels in Mexico, superb outdoor scene and great restaurants.

The best way to get there: By plane. Cabo has daily flights from many destinations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

What are the top things you’ll be doing: Cabo San Lucas is a great year-round destination that boasts plenty of activities from exploring the beaches to snorkelling, diving and hiking, and wildlife watching. It’s also a great starting point for a Baja California road trip. You can rent a car to venture up north and visit places like La Paz, Loreto and Mulege.

What are some other unique things to do: Baja California is known for its migrating whales: From December through early April, you can spot gray whales, humpbacks, blue whales, and whale sharks, all around the peninsula. Whale watching tours depart daily from Cabo San Lucas, however, seeing a whale in the wild is never a guarantee, as these marine giants are notoriously elusive.

Luxury accommodation options: Montage Los Cabos – this oceanfront resort boasts a swimmable beach, two outdoor pools, and a full-service spa, perfect for luxurious holiday destinations. The on-site restaurant serves traditional Mexican cuisine in a gorgeous setting.

Restaurants: Cabo is home to many upscale restaurants that specialize in seafood, however, you can also find many small local joints like La Raiz, a tortillería that makes the best quesadillas you can find.

Cancun

Recommended by Isabella from Lets travel to Cancun

Cancun is one of the top luxury vacation destinations in Mexico. In fact, besides boasting spectacular beaches and the spectacular Caribbean turquoise waters, the city is home to some of the top luxury hotels in Mexico and high-end restaurants.

It’s also a very convenient location as the Cancun International Airport, the second most trafficked in Mexico, receives flights from many international hubs.

Cancun is also a great base if you want to travel around the Yucatan Peninsula and discover its hidden treasures, from the ancient Mayan Ruins of Tulum and Chichen Itza to the colonial city of Yucatan, the Magical Cenotes and hidden beaches.

From Cancun, you have many water-related activities to choose from, including, snorkeling, diving, paddle boarding, and kayaking or sailing.

Among the many Luxury Hotels, you find in Cancun, a few stand out for their exceptional service and prime amenities.

NIZUC Resort and Spa is one of the top luxury hotels with private pools in Cancun, Le Blanc is a beautiful All-Inclusive resort for Adults only, while Hyatt Ziva is a great high-end option for families.

Even if you are staying in an All Inclusive hotel I would recommend trying some of the delicious high-end restaurants such as Puerto Madero, or the romantic Thai Restaurant in Plaza La Isla, both located in the Hotel Zone.

As you can see, Cancun is one of the prime luxury vacation destinations in the Mexican Caribbean.

Tulum

Recommended by Mal from Raw Mal Roams

Despite that, I already visited Tulum last year, this fabulous beach town is at the top of my luxury vacation destinations, list in 2023 as well!

Tulum is the ultimate boho beach paradise where you can relax in a chic beach club, indulge in healthy cuisine and stay in trendy and super unique hotels. Tulum is also an excellent base for exploring Yucatan’s incredible cenotes and Mayan ruins.

The nearest airport to Tulum is located in Cancun, a 90-minute drive away. You can either book private transport or take an ADO bus that runs between the two locations frequently throughout the day.

This time, I will visit more incredible Tulum cenotes such as Grand Cenote, Cenote Calavera and Casa Cenote. I’m also planning to spend half a day at the stunning Laguna de Kaan Luum and visit Coba – the ruins of an important ancient Mayan city.

Other things that I did last year and can highly recommend are visiting Tulum ruins, spending a day at Vagalume Beach Club, and taking a day trip to one of the Seven World Wonders – Chichen Itza.

Stay in one of the hotels on Tulum Beach – which is by far the most fabulous place to stay in Tulum, near trendy beach clubs, excellent restaurants and bars. Papaya Playa Project or La Valise, which are both luxury vacation destinations in themselves.

Tulum is also famous for its fabulous cafes and restaurants, and you definitely won’t go hungry during your vacation here. I loved the smoothie bowls from Matcha Mama and Raw Love, and I had some incredible burritos at Burrito Amor.

Costa Rica

Recommended by Sam from Find Love and Travel

When planning my luxury vacation destinations for 2023, I am seriously considering revisiting La Fortuna, Costa Rica! My main reason being that you can surround yourself completely with nature, which is such a therapeutic experience. If you live in a city, this location can come as a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle.

To arrive at La Fortuna, I would suggest driving from the San Jose Airport or Libera Airport, which are the main airports in Costa Rica.

La Fortuna is a true paradise and has so many fun, nature-filled activities to explore.

One of the best things to do in La Fortuna is visiting the famous La Fortuna Waterfall. This swimmable waterfall is over 200 ft, and you may even see monkeys hanging around when you visit!

Some other activities I highly recommend are hiking Mt. Arenal, zip-lining through the jungle, and exploring the Mistico Hanging Bridges!

When looking for a luxurious place to stay, I suggest The Springs Resort, a 5-star luxurious stay in the jungle.

During your stay, you will have the opportunity to see wildlife right on the property. Additionally, you can enjoy incredible views of the volcano and some of the best hot springs in all of Costa Rica.

One of the restaurants I would recommend stopping by is Don Rufino which is highly rated online!

Overall, La Fortuna is such a magical place and definitely worth adding to your list of luxury vacation destinations to travel to!

Rio de Janeiro

Recommended by Edin from Mauka Travels

Why: I can’t wait to revisit Rio for the second time it is truly one of the best luxury vacation destinations Experiencing the city in its full summer glow. During my last trip, it rained non-stop, but I still loved my time there, so I can’t wait to enjoy it properly.

The best way to get to Rio is by flying to the International Airport Tom Jobim (GIG) and, from there, taking a taxi to the hotel or accommodation. I have been able to get direct flights from Europe via France or Germany.

The top thing on my bucket list to do in Rio is to visit the Maracanã Stadium. I am a big fan of soccer and look forward to seeing the tribute they made to Pelé. I am also looking forward to spending quality time at Ipanema Beach and enjoying the sunset at Arpoador, which is one of the most beautiful spots in the country. I have fond memories of the only sunset we were able to catch during my last trip to Rio. Besides the beautiful landscape, the vibe is very positive as everyone applauds as the sun goes down.

Another unique thing to do in Rio is to go on a helicopter ride overlooking the city a truly luxurious experience. I haven’t done it myself, but it is definitely on my bucket list. The helicopter goes around the statue of Christ, and you can see the entire city from above. Other options for activities are to go hang gliding, explore the museums in the City Centre, or go paddle boarding in the ocean.

For places to stay, I will be looking for places in Ipanema, as it is my favourite neighbourhood. Hotel Fasano is one of the most luxurious and prestigious hotels in this area, with the most picture-perfect pool on the rooftop. Another great option is Hotel Arpoador, located in the same area.

Antarctica

Recommended by Pamela from The Directionally Challenged Traveler

One of the top luxury vacation destinations for your bucket list is the breathtaking continent of Antarctica. The untouched beauty of the continent left me breathless.

Most people visit Antarctica by taking a cruise from Argentina across the Drake Passage. In order to navigate the treacherous sea and then navigate through miles of sea ice, it’s important to choose a cruise line that specializes in polar travel. Since there aren’t any hotels in Antarctica, you also want to make sure it’s a luxurious ship. Hurtigruten ships have all the things you can want on your Antarctica cruise. Their small ships also allow for plenty of landings so you can get up close to penguins and seals (but not too close!)

Most people think there isn’t that much to do in Antarctica, but I can promise you won’t be bored. From geology walks to learn about the unique rocks to kayaking with seals, the nature of Antarctica is fascinating. From walking along beaches overrun with penguins to hiking up dormant volcanos. Zodiac boats can allow you the opportunity to get up close to whales in Wilhelmina Bay. For the truly brave, you can take a polar plunge in the water or even go camping in Antarctica!  While it’s not a luxury experience, sleeping on the ice is something that only a small group of people can say they have done.

While traveling to Antarctica can be an luxurious vacation, it is also an expensive trip. However, it is truly one that you’ll be talking about for years to come.

The Caribbean

How could you not get more luxury vacation destinations in The Caribbean. The gorgeous sandy beachs, exquisite accommodations and astounding restaurants and bars to feast at. That is before we even get to the different activities both on land and under the sea. The Caribbean is truly one of the best luxurious travel destinations there is.

Also, it’s one of the well deserved luxury vacation destinations after the Antartica…

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

Recommended by Jeanine from Lets go a Wandering

The pick of luxury vacation destinations I am planning to visit this year is Grand Cayman. Whilst this will be my first visit to The Caymans, it won’t be my last. Aside from the amazing weather, beaches restaurants, bars and activities that can be found on the island. My main reason for going is a little more personal as we have family that resides there. That said, we are treating it like any one of the luxury vacation destinations we have planned for the year. Lots of planning, small group tours and creating the perfect itinerary for us and our family, though I am sure they’ll have some ideas also.

You can get direct flights into the Owen Roberts International Airport, Grand Cayman via Cayman Airways out of several cities in the US,  Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Denver to name a few. Additionally, you can get access to Grand Cayman from Jamaica, Honduras, and Havana with Cayman Airways. As well as entry to the smaller islands of Little Cayman and Cayman Brac via various ports.

Whilst partaking in our luxury Caribbean vacation we will make sure we allow time to visit Stingray City, kayak in the Bioluminescent Bay, the Crystal Caves. We will also be visiting the Caymans Spirit Co. Distillery, because who could go to the Caribbean and not sip a little bit of rum. Maybe I will find out for “Captain Jack, Why the rum is always gone”.

If you love to dive whilst visiting Grand Cayman you won’t be disappointed with some amazing dive spots such as the wreck of the Ex-USS Kittiwake. These activities only scratch the surface of the Cayman island, it is not just about the beaches, though they also look amazing. Just one more reason this is one of the best luxury vacation destinations.

Whilst staying at Grand Cayman you can stay at a typical luxury Caribbean beach resorts there are several on the island. Depending on where you are based our picks are Wyndham Reef Resort at East End, Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, an IHG Hotel at West Bay and The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman at Seven Mile Beach.

The restaurants and bars around the island we plan to visit are Agua Restaurant and Lounge, Next Door Cocktail Bar and Kaibo for Sunday brunch I am hoping there will be many more to explore also.

Barbados, South Eastern Caribbean

Recommended by Melissa from My Beautiful Passport

One of the luxury vacation destinations, I’d love to visit this year is the island of Barbados. This Caribbean nation stole a piece of my heart a few years ago with its stunning beaches, fresh seafood, and friendly locals, and I’ve been wanting to re-visit ever since.

When planning activities for a return trip to Barbados, my top things to do would be going on a catamaran snorkelling tour in Carlisle Bay, exploring Harrison’s Cave, and riding the heritage train at St.Nicholas Abbey. Other activities on the island include rum tours, riding ATVs, and exploring the capital of Bridgetown.

And don’t forget about all the delicious places to eat! For fine dining, enjoy food from a Michelin Star chef at The Cliffs Restaurant or dine with an ocean view at The Tides Barbados. For a more casual vibe, but still yummy, eat at Oistins Fish Market and Cuz’s Fish Stand. I loved the fish cutters from Cuz’s so much, I ate there twice.

The best way to get to Barbados is a direct flight from major airports like Miami, New York, or Toronto or via cruise from a nearby Caribbean island. Plan to stay on the west coast of Barbados, where the waters are calm and there are the best choices of luxury accommodations, including Sandy Lane, the Fairmont Royal Pavillon, and Sandals.

North Atlantic Ocean Islands

Bermuda, British territory in the North Atlantic Ocean

Recommended by Victoria Maria from Guide Your Travel

Bermuda is definitely on the bucket list of luxury vacation destinations, with its stunning pink sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters. In addition to having a unique blend of British and Caribbean cultures. It is the perfect destination for a luxurious and relaxing getaway, with plenty of activities to keep you entertained.

The best way to get to Bermuda is by flying into L.F. Wade International Airport, which is located in the capital city of Hamilton. From there, you can take a taxi or a bus to your destination.

Once you arrive in Bermuda, there are plenty of fun things to do. Some of the best include lounging on the pink sand beaches, swimming in the crystal clear waters, exploring the island on a scooter or bike, and visiting the many historical and cultural sites. Some other unique things to do include visiting the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo, playing a round of golf on one of the island’s many golf courses, or going on a snorkeling or diving excursion to see the vibrant marine life.

When it comes to accommodation, Bermuda offers plenty of luxury options, including 4-5 star hotels, resorts and glamping. Some popular options include the Fairmont Southampton, Rosewood Bermuda, and The Reefs.

Of course, Bermuda has an excellent food scene, from fine dining to casual eateries. Some popular places to eat include The Waterlot Inn, which serves traditional Bermuda cuisine, and The Hamilton Princess & Beach Club, which offers a variety of dining options, including a rooftop terrace with views of the harbor. Another highly recommended restaurant is the Beach House, which serves fresh seafood and has a great atmosphere.

Turks and Caicos, British territory in the Atlantic Ocean

Recommended by Rachel from Caribbean Uncovered

I’ve been dreaming of a trip back to Turks and Caicos for a long time, and it’s finally here! The beautiful turquoise water, healthy coral reefs, and high-end feel make Turks and Caicos the perfect as one od the best luxury vacation destinations for your bucket list.

I’ll be heading to Turks and Caicos in April, when rainy season hasn’t started but peak tourist season is slowing down so prices are a bit lower. Additionally, from the east coast, it’s an easy 2-3 hour flight to the Providenciales International Airport.

I’ll be spending lots of time in the white sand, hitting a snorkeling tour to North and Middle Caicos, and exploring Chalk Sound National Park.
You can also explore the naturally occurring “Hole” or visit historic sites around the island.

However, one of the most unique things you can do in Turks and Caicos is to spend time with the local potcakes! “Potcakes” are a breed of stray dogs you’ll find around the island. The island’s recuse shelter “Potcake Place” coordinates walks down the beach with these dogs. And, if you fall in love with your furry friend, they’ll help you safely adopt and bring them home.

One thing everyone has told me to do in Turks and Caicos is to eat a fresh Conch salad. There are a few tours that will let you dive for your own conch and the captain will make you a ceviche right on the boat. If I don’t have time to plan another tour, “Da Conch Shack” is a popular beach bar on my list of places to try.

The Tuscany on Grace is the perfect beachfront hotel in Turks and Caicos with a pool and spa to complete a luxury vacation.
