Alice Eduardo has built a name for herself in the construction industry. Some may know her through her famous family and friends, but in the business world, she's come to be known as the woman behind 80 percent of Entertainment City in Parañaque.

Here's what you need to know about the Eduardo family—Alice Eduardo and her children—and the family business.

Who is Alice Eduardo and where does her fortune come from?

Alice Galang Eduardo was born on March 20, 1965, to Andres and Elisa Eduardo. She has three siblings: sisters Melba and Small and brother Joel. The Eduardos are a family of entrepreneurs that at one point owned a garments export business, rice milling business, and a rice trading business.

Dubbed the Woman of Steel, Eduardo is the president and CEO of Sta. Elena Construction. Starting with Batangas plants, Sta. Elena Construction grew to build the foundations of much of Entertainment City in Parañaque.

In an interview with Philippine Tatler, Eduardo spoke about how she broke into the male-dominated world of construction.

My first break came when our family’s rice mill was supplying rice to the office of Concrete Aggregates [CA] in the ’90s. I had developed a good rapport with the CA team and they encouraged me to supply other items to them, in particular steel splices. It’s a construction material specific to concrete piles that are, in turn, used for building structural foundations. It was at that moment that I decided, ‘Well, no guts no glory.’ That was also the day pile driving became part of my daily vocabulary. I gave an enthusiastic ‘yes’ for an answer, and figured I would learn what I needed to learn and do what I needed to do to make it happen.

Plenty of her time is spent with family including her parents and siblings in both Manila and Los Angeles. Her posts also reveal her favorite luxuries like Rolls-Royce cars, Hermès bags, and Gucci clothing.

She has a mansion on swanky Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills.

Beverly Hills' 90210 is arguably the most famous zip code in the world—thanks to its associations with the rich and famous. Notable residents include Jeff Bezos, Eddie Murphy, Simon Cowell, and Taylor Swift.

According to online records, Eduardo purchased the five-bedroom, seven-bathroom, 8,522-square-feet mansion in 2013 for $8,275,000 (approximately P397,679,950). It has a two-story living room, double-sided staircase, large formal dining room, gourmet kitchen, family room, library, powder room, and French doors throughout.

The mansion was reportedly listed for sale in September 2013 for $9.5 million, but it was quickly removed two months later by Keller Williams Beverly Hills Realty. Currently, Zillow estimates that property to be worth $16,574,141.

Her famous friends include tycoons, socialites, and celebrities.

The celebrities Eduardo has in her inner circle are Pops Fernandez, Marjorie Barretto, Dawn Zulueta, former actresses Cristina Gonzalez-Romualdez and Joy Ortega, and talent manager Jojie Dingcong. But, she also mingles with fixtures of the country's society pages like Kit Zobel, Mons Romulo, and Tina Maristela Ocampo, to name a few. Internationally, she calls Mohamed Hadid a friend, while Migos' Offset dropped by her Los Angeles mansion for a visit.

In 2019, Eduardo was dragged into a scuffle between Gretchen Barretto and Kris Aquino.

The whole thing started after Barretto claimed that Aquino had intervened for Eduardo in a tax case with the Bureau of Internal Revenue by going directly to her friend Kim Henares during an Instagram Live stream. Barretto added the Aquino constantly received designer bags, shoes, and clothes in exchange for her role in the supposed arrangement. Read Barretto's full statement below:

Nagkaproblema po si Alice Eduardo sa tax niya po dito sa Pilipinas. She was being charged lots of millions or billions of pesos po, at tinulungan po ni Kris Aquino. If I’m not mistaken po, para mapababa ang kanyang ibabayad kay Kim Henares o sa gobyerno po natin. Yun po ang nangyari.

Aquino's lawyers issued a statement saying she never intervened for Eduardo in any pending tax case and that the records prove that Kris has been one of the top individual taxpayers of the country.
