Bees superb, especially given the wholesale changes, and a terrific game which was a credit to Palace as well.
Great summary mate. How did our vocal support sound from where you were in the ground?Watched this one amongst the Palace fans which I find always helps to give a balanced perspective on things! For the most part I thought we played pretty well, bearing in mind we were away to a very competent team with some gifted forward players. Apart from the shot in the first half that Hickey blocked, I think we largely limited them to efforts from outside the box. Although we didn't create loads ourselves, there were several times where we might have done a bit better - Zanka's header in the first half and Toney's fresh air kick in the second spring to mind.
Zaha with a touch of class opened the scoring and I don't think anyone can be blamed for that. It's the PL and sometimes excellent players score excellent goals. It took a while before we really got a reaction but with Palace sitting deeper and deeper it always felt like a chance would come and a lovely cross from Janelt was headed home by Wissa, who remains an enigma! Seems bizarre that in the end I came away a bit disappointed we didn't win given the two near misses right at the death...but overall, pleased with a point away to a good side and with some key defensive players missing.
Everton was a ball over the top wouldn’t class that as right hand side?Pleased with a point......however noticed that v Everton....and again last night....their goal came from an attack down our right side.....maybee just one of those things I suppose....You Reds...
It was a quality goal. At the time I thought he had too much time but when played back he just shot out of nowhere. That’s why they put up with his crap because he can do that.Pleased with a point......however noticed that v Everton....and again last night....their goal came from an attack down our right side.....maybee just one of those things I suppose....You Reds...
Congratulations mateOn reflection, that was a superb, controlled away performance.
Selhurst Park is a tough place to come to with a full strength side and we started without our first choice centre back pairing, captain and vice captain.
While we didn’t create lots of really clear cut chances, ie shots that made the keeper have to make a save, first half we played like the home team, had most of the possession and always looking to get forward and create. Sadly no one seemed to want to be the one to get a shot off despite the amount of time we spent in and around their box.
At half time my fear was Palace had to get better and would get chances, they had more of the ball and played in our half but our defence was superb and they didn’t create genuine clear cut chances, a Worldie from the edge of the box rather than a chance?
Once they did score, our attitude was superb, no heads down and quick changes that re energised us and while a bit gung ho at times, I’d far rather lose 2-0 having a go than settling for 1-0.
I felt it gave them space and far more opportunities on the break that I expected them to take, it was a triumph for calculated risk taking and brave subs and we got the equaliser we fully deserved over 90 minutes.
Brilliant scenes and lots of hugging of strangers again with magnificent celebrations on and off the pitch.
Another memorable evening that was topped off by news that I’d become a grandad again as I waited on the platform at Thornton Heath.
Spot on, he is a genius and they tolerate him because he’s a local boy and capable of World class on his day.It was a quality goal. At the time I thought he had too much time but when played back he just shot out of nowhere. That’s why they put up with his crap because he can do that.
Thanks GCongratulations mate
Blimey, if you think that’s a hole best you never go to mboro, Luton, Newport, Bradford, Walsall,Stoke etc etc etc….Away end atmosphere decent, some big tackles flying in which I loved, absolute hole of an area,Jensen ahickey and a Henry brilliant
Erm, beer prices, chaps etc etc ??Watched this one amongst the Palace fans which I find always helps to give a balanced perspective on things! IF I was an estate agent I would describe it as "characterful, vibrant with plenty of 'urban charm'" - sort of place you end up missing when you move out of London imoBlimey, if you think that’s a hole best you never go to mboro, Luton, Newport, Bradford, Walsall,Stoke etc etc etc….

It was a bit of an older set where I was, all quite sedate with a bit of clapping along to Glad all Over. Beer prices, no idea. I had a diet coke as i was driving!Erm, beer prices, chaps etc etc ??
Pretty good - could certainly hear us loud & clear when we got behind the boys!Great summary mate. How did our vocal support sound from where you were in the ground?
Yes you could, just like last season, stand where you wanted.I had a ticket up near there but stood further down. Fortunately the stewarding was good and they realise what a hole it is.
You were shot down for suggesting those who can't stand all game should still stand. Don't be a **** to those less able to and you won't be shot downYes you could, just like last season, stand where you wanted.
I said this before the game but was shot down for it.
I hope those determined to go to their allocated seat behind the pillars still managed to see some of the game.
That was a seperate debate. You were shot down for suggesting those who can't stand all game should still stand. Don't be a **** to those less able to and you won't be shot down
No it wasn’t. And also, I didn’t take anyone else’s seat, I stood in the gangway. Stewards weren’t being over officious and tolerated it from several others. That was a seperate debate.
Listen...if you turn up 5 minutes in to a game...and you take a seat that is available...and noone comes over to you and says "this is my seat"...are you claiming someone's seat or are you simply taking a space that has been made available by virtue of the fact the person or persons whose tickets are allocated for that spot are either standing somewhere else or haven't turned up at all?No it wasn’t. And also, I didn’t take anyone else’s seat, I stood in the gangway. Stewards weren’t being over officious and tolerated it from several others.

Im sure some on here wont agree but imo Jensen also good againNot sure Brian was at his best but agree on Hickey and Henry
Forgot to quote thisWe worked hard all over the pitch and looked much better defensively BUT we had one shot on target in the first 85 minutes. I don't think it was anywhere near the levels we got to in the Man Utd game.
But if you were the sort of person who wanted to sit you are not going to be challenging someone like this and this is the point out poster isn't understandingTrust me mate. If you took my seat and I wanted to sit in it, you’d be pretty compliant.
Thank youCongrats mate
I agree. Like dogshit down the local park, he was everywhere.Im sure some on here wont agree but imo Jensen also good again
He's certainly upped his levels compared to last season. Dare I say it, he's looking like he belongs in the Premier League...Im sure some on here wont agree but imo Jensen also good again

Nice post, although I actually really rate their away end. Tbf I was down the front so had an unobstructed view, but give me that over Southampton or Brighton any day.A really good all round performance from us tonight, even though Palace made a game of it for a lot of the second half. Their stadium is like something out of the Ark though. Long queues for both sets of fans trying to get in, even worse than last year. The view of the pitch, no matter where you are (apart from the first few rows, I guess), the t.v. gantry, the supporting pillars, and the almost minimal step increase between rows ensure that it’s one of the worst away experiences in the PL. Fortunately, none of that made an iota of difference to our level of support throughout, which was magnificent. We rightly sang “Where’s your famous atmosphere ?” at them.
Wissa’s timing of the goal couldn’t have been choreographed better. Great scenes. The VAR debacle only ensured that we could celebrate it twice.
However, the 19th century experience reappeared as we approached Selhurst station. Long queues; station gates closed for a long period; very few station staff and insufficient information as to trains/platform back to CJ all seemed to conspire to puncture our euphoria. They failed though.
Got home and to bed eventually. Couldn’t get to sleep as my brain insisted on running various replays from the match. Anyone who’s not a football fan could never appreciate or even understand how much it all means to us.
Southampton is decent away end Brighton I’ll give youNice post, although I actually really rate their away end. Tbf I was down the front so had an unobstructed view, but give me that over Southampton or Brighton any day.
Also, queues at Thornton Heath were non-existent
PCongratulations mate

Thanks. I couldn't see much of the game thanks to selfish morons standing on the stairs in front of the less able. After 68 years I am unlikely to go to any more away games thanks to those who are so inconsiderate. No it wasn’t. And also, I didn’t take anyone else’s seat, I stood in the gangway. Stewards weren’t being over officious and tolerated it from several others.
Fulham is the same.,What happened to the segregation in the concourse at half time? Bees and palace freely mixing didn’t bother me but thought it was a bit strange
That was a seperate debate.
You were shot down for suggesting those who can't stand all game should still stand. Don't be a **** to those less able to and you won't be shot down
Perhaps you would like to exchange my cancer for a front row seat? I won't be going to see any more away games due to people who insist on standing in front of the area reserved for the less able. I missed most of the game, and the stewards asked many times for people to move but were ignored. Clearly they didn't want to eject anyone.Yes you could, just like last season, stand where you wanted.
I said this before the game but was shot down for it.
Stewards were great again and by and large let us be. For instance no over zealous removal of fans from gangways
I hope those determined to go to their allocated seat behind the pillars still managed to see some of the game.
Don't give up Walmer. Keep telling the people in your way to F*CK OFF. After reading your post I'm gonna be much more aware/considerate of the folk around me.Perhaps you would like to exchange my cancer for a front row seat? I hope you're continuing to come to home matches? Don't expect a reasonable response from DoubleD or whatever he's called as he appears to be a selfish little turd with no class or humility. He'll probably post some footage of some Ultras firing flares out of their arses or something similar. Wish you well.Perhaps you would like to exchange my cancer for a front row seat? Just watch Patrick Viera’s press conference and he seemed pretty pleased with a point. He clearly reckoned we could have nicked it at the death.
