When Edmund Mortimer 3rd Earl of March was born on 1 February 1352, in Llyswen, Breconshire, Wales, his father, Sir Roger Mortimer 2nd Earl of March, was 23 and his mother, Philippa Montagu, was 19. He married Philippa 5th Countess of Ulster on 1 May 1368, in Reading, Berkshire, England. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 2 daughters. He died on 27 December 1381, in Cork, County Cork, Ireland, at the age of 29, and was buried in Wigmore, Herefordshire, England.
