FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY. INSCRIBED AND SIGNED on the front free endpaper recto by the author to his son, who illustrated this book, and his daughter-in-law one week after publication: "To Jack and Jane with love, O.B. Apr 9, 1948."
Condition: A few small scuffs to cloth, corners just bumped, minor edgewear. Dust jacket unclipped (no price listed as issued), generally clean and bright, spine panel somewhat sunned, a few minor chips, mild edgewear.

Accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Linda Burroughs, wife of Danton Burroughs, who was the son of John Coleman (Jack) Burroughs, and grandson of Edgar Rice Burroughs.
