A relative unknown, McNeely is the mother of Murphy's first child, Eric Murphy. Her relationship with the star was believed to have taken place around 1989 and was short-lived.

Nicole Mitchell

Mitchell, a model, was married to Murphy from 1993 to 2006 and is the mother of five of his children: Bria, Myles, Shayne, Zola and Bella. She once told Radar, “Eddie and I are friends; he’s my babies’ daddy, so we speak to each other and have a great relationship and I think that’s important when you have children involved.”

Tamara Hood

Another relative unknown, Hood is the mother of Murphy's son Christian. She and the actor were never married.

Eddie's first child Eric was born in 1989. He is the son of Eddie's then-girlfriend, actress Paulette McNeely. Like his mother, Eric lived a quiet life, relatively removed from social media—until he began dating Martin Lawrence's daughter Jasmin Lawrence in mid-2021. As of this writing in 2024, the couple is still together.

In November 2023, Eddie Murphy acknowledged his son's relationship with Jasmin in an interview with Today's Al Roker.

Christian Murphy (b. Nov. 29, 1990)

Christian was born the year after Eric and Bria, in 1990. He is the son of Eddie's then-girlfriend Tamara Hood. Like his half-brother Eric, Christian remains relatively low-key on social media and has not been bitten by the acting bug like his siblings.

Myles Mitchell Murphy (b. Nov. 7, 1992)

Myles is the second child of Eddie and Nicole Mitchell. He had a daughter of his own named Evie in 2019, making Eddie a grandfather. Myles and Evie's mom, Carly Fink.

Shayne Audra Murphy (b. Oct. 10, 1994)

Zola Ivy Murphy (b. Dec. 24, 1999)

Zola is the fourth child of Eddie and Nicole Mitchell, born in 1999. She appeared alongside her mother and sisters Bria and Shayne on Hollywood Exes in 2014. Like Shayne, she is also pursuing modeling.

Bella Zahra Murphy (b. Jan. 29, 2002)

Bella is the fifth child of Eddie and Nicole Mitchell, born in 2002. She is the final sibling of the family, as her parents divorced the next year due to "irreconcilable differences." She appeared in 2021's Coming 2 America, the sequel to her father's 1988 original.

Angel Iris Murphy Brown (b. April 3, 2007)

Angel was born April 3, 2007, on her dad's 46th birthday to mother, Spice Girl Melanie Brown, also known as "Mel B." The birth was full of drama, as Eddie questioned whether he was the father during Mel B.'s pregnancy. A couple of months after Angel was born, a DNA test confirmed Murphy's paternity. Initially, Angel's mother claimed Eddie didn't want to seek a relationship with his child. But shortly after, there were claims he had been getting to know Angel. Angel turned 17 in 2024.

Izzy Oona Murphy (b. May 3, 2016)

Izzy was born in May 2016. She is the daughter of Eddie Murphy and model Paige Butcher, whom he began dating in 2012 and became engaged to in 2018.

Max Charles Murphy (b. Nov. 30, 2018)

The latest addition to the Murphy family is Max, the second child of Eddie and Paige Butcher. His middle name is a reference to Eddie's brother Charlie Murphy, who had died of leukemia the year before Max's birth.
