'Two Nights In Binghamton' New Import CD: Out now is a new 2-CD 1977 AUDIENCE RECORDING from the BJ Records label with the title “Two Nights In Binghamton” featuring the May 26 & 27th, 1977 shows.
Back in 1999 the Coast To Coast label released the CD ''Why Me, Lord'' featuring the May 26th 1977 concert in Binghamton, NY.
While in reasonable sound at the time, it was released in much better sound the following year on the Krypton Label, both of these releases showed that there were still nights where Elvis could pull it off and leave a mesmerizing performance when the moment was right, it took until 2006 for the second show to become available on the Graceland Records label under the name ''Second Night'' that release showed us that Elvis did not run out of steam after the previous night, if anything he was giving even more during the second show! Just listen to one of the best versions of ''Unchained Melody'' as Elvis pours his heart out.
The two Binghamton shows are a good example of some of those special moments where Elvis got it together, Elvis performs a varied setlist with a couple of songs that hadn't been performed very often
at the time, this includes the last live version of Kris Kristofferson's ''Why Me, Lord'', Simon & Garfunkel's ''Bridge Over Troubled Water'' and even ''Blue Suede Shoes'' and ''Heartbreak Hotel'' were performed whilst not a standard anymore at the time, it made for a nice surprise!
BJ Records felt it was time to re-release these two shows because of their historic place in representing Elvis his final year of performing on stage, with the original releases out of print we've put both shows together in a neat package, this allows older and newer fans to have both shows in the same place, while also enjoying the improved sound quality.
This digipack has been filled with some great photos of Elvis taken during these two shows, and newspaper reviews. - A very limited edition.

'ELVIS 22 - Essential Fifties Splices Vol1' New Import: The CMT label announces, 'ELVIS 22 - Essential Fifties Splices Volume 1'.
The series continues in the fifties and focusses on 1957.
Elvis recorded lots of different songs in very different styles
This release really shows how Elvis worked and was involved in the producing side of the tracks.
Amazing new splices are created for your listening pleasure
Highlights include a totally NEW version of "Baby I Don't Care" which has an unreleased instrumental track mixed with alternate takes of the song, the result is STUNNING!
Also on this release are some cleverly made splices of different versions of songs. "Treat Me Nice" combines the first and second movie version along with portions of the master.
"Young and Beautiful" gets the same treatment and it is very cool to hear Elvis start of solo and later the band joins in.
"One Night" combines the "sin" version with the master and even "Teddy Bear" and "All Shook Up" are mixed in a way as if they are alternate takes.
We could go on, but best thing to do is judge for yourself!

'Shooting Star In Largo' New Import: Straight Arrow is pleased to announce this new 2CD set, featuring two concerts from the June 1976 Bicentennial tour, a topnotch AUDIENCE recording.
As all die-hard fans know 1976 was a somewhat problematic year for Elvis, nevertheless the June concerts from Largo are examples of really solid Presley performances, with The King sounding clear and enthusiastic and most important - in good voice.
It is worth mentioning that Elvis met Elton John prior to his evening show in Largo. Before he left, the British singer asked Elvis to sing „Heartbreak Hotel” (which Elvis did), and informed him that his parents would also be in the audience. Elton and Presley said goodbye cordially and Elton was escorted once again to his seat in the arena, but not without posing for a picture with an illustrious fan: Lisa Marie, the daughter of his idol.
Both shows were taken directly from recently found original audience-recorded master tapes and they were recorded by a famous photographer of many Elvis 70s concerts, American superfan Harold Jean Newton (July 23, 1939 - June 10, 2009). These historic concerts were never before available in the good sound quality - until now!
The June 27th, 1976, 2:30pm show was previously released on CD from an inferior and slightly incomplete source. The July 27th 8:30pm show is previously unreleased. Every second was enhanced to achieve the optimal listening experience. Ask your local CD vendor for teasers!
This special release is presented in de-luxe double digipack, accompanied with local press review. All images used for this project were taken on stage during Elvis' 1976 Largo concerts. Photos from June 27th 8:30pm are black and white and they are rare. A couple of them have been added in spite of the problematic quality, for historic reasons.

'Burning in Tahoe ‘76' New Import: Want more 1976 AUDIENCE RECORDINGS (EIN: Actually, No!) well MxF will soon release 'Burning In Tahoe ‘76' featuring the complete evening show from May 05th. This show is previously unreleased and taken directly from the original ambiance high-quality tape.
Elvis worked hard during this last Tahoe season in spite has not been an impressive vision He fought very hard to deliver a good show. The choice of songs was more varied with respect to the regular tour and the intimate showroom seemed to inspire Elvis to deliver longer and more solid shows. The 5 May 1976 evening show here presented doesn’t make an exception Elvis delivered 18 solid songs reaching the top with the bluesy Trying to get to you, the anthem America, and the very sensitive Hawaiian Wedding Song, at the same time in spite of the poor shape He still able to perform rockers like the classic Polk Salad Annie and overall the fast Burning Love.
The AUDIENCE tape is very good quality, as you can appreciate both Elvis and the band and at the same time, you can feel and live the atmosphere of the intimate Lake Tahoe Showroom, where the recording gives you the possibility to listen to the great enthusiasm of the public.
This new MxF double cd set is in a deluxe Long Digipack.

'Tampa Wave' 1975 CD /DVD New Import: The promotional blurb states: Millbranch Music is back with its second release in 2022!  After the overwhelming success of our recent 1976 CD/DVD set we were able to obtain more new and great 8mm footage plus a first generation audience recording from Elvis' April 1975 tour!
'Tampa Wave' is a 2-disc set: The CD includes Elvis' full performance AUDIENCE RECORDING of the evening show in Tampa, Florida April 26, 1975, taken from the original tape which has been recorded by a by then “experienced” fan who had a great seat in the 5th row - and his recording equipment with him! For our last two releases we have worked strictly with soundboard recordings, but since the Tampa show we got the original tape of is really a very good audience recording with a lot of information

regarding the excitement of the crowd in the rather small building Elvis played in (7,500 in attendance), we decided to work with it on our brand new project. After all, Elvis fans would miss a lot if there were no audience recordings - some of them sound probably even better than quite a few dry sounding SB's - but that will always stay a matter of audible taste of course.
The DVD in our new set has a running time of almost 100 minutes and includes rare and high-quality 8mm-footage of the Tampa evening show from April 26, 1975 (the same as you can hear on the CD) and more impressions from the same tour with the concerts in Lakeland, Florida...
(April 27 evening show and the show from April 28) and Atlanta from May 1st.
As a very special bonus the DVD contains an absolutely stunning performance from Elvis' concert in Richfield, filmed at his magnificent July 75' tour (July 18). The quality and length of the material we invested a lot of money in recently will blow you away! You will get 53 minutes from this show which is almost 80% of the whole performance. Especially in the last two years, there have been a lot of releases which have shown some great 8mm footage on DVD.
In the last couple of years more and more of the old private film-reels which seem to have remained hidden since the 1970´s showed up - reels that have been copied over and over and later put on rather bad video cassettes which have also been copied and copied over and over again, losing so much information with each ongoing copy. Nowadays, it is possible to work with those reels from back then, getting great results in terms of picture quality (at least in quite big parts) so we can see Elvis in all its glory on almost every tour and every Las Vegas engagement he did and taste a bit of the excitement from way back 45+ years ago.
Great times to be an Elvis-Collector!
EIN Note: FTD has releases EIGHT soundboards from this April 24 - May 7 season, including the Tampa April 26 afternoon show  - Look here to check.

‘Live Experience In Vegas February 1971’ New CD: An AUDIENCE recorded - February 21, 1971 Midnight Show.
The publicity notes… Not even half a year had passed since Presley’s triumphant summer festival in bright light city, during which a good part was filmed for the upcoming documentary ‘That’s The Way It Is’. In the meantime, two highly successful and thrilling short tours, the first ones since 1957, brought the legendary performer back to many fans’ doorsteps all across the nation. Coming back to Las Vegas for his fourth month-long run in the short time span of only one and a half years, it became apparent to the close observer that the Memphis singer was bored already. Too lazy to care much about an updated repertoire, all the audience got was a rehash of his earlier appearances with two exceptions; Most shows, partially due to the star catching the flu, ran only about half as long as during the previous engagement and some closed with a new song – The Impossible Dream – a beautiful Mitch Leigh composition from the tony award winning 1965 musical The Man Of La Mancha. To be fair, we have to say that even with some shows only running around 35 to 40 minutes, Elvis, as bored as he might have been at times, infused them with a good deal of his humor and vocal power, still leaving the audience in awe. It might be of interest to the

serious Presley scholar that it was during this engagement that a new orchestral theme was inaugurated. The resounding horns of Richard Strauss’ Also Sprach Zarathustra would from now on herald the arrival of the King to the concert stage. If you want to relive the magic and excitement of Elvis in Las Vegas, this superbly packaged and good sounding album is your invitation to the showroom of the International Hotel. Enjoy the show.

Do fans really need this?

‘Summer Festival: Reflections Of '71 Vol.2’ New CD: Yet more 1971 Audience recordings that have been previously bootlegged.
The publicity notes... This 3 CD set featuring 3 audience recorded live shows from August 1971.
This set contains many highlights like Kris Kristofferson's beautiful ballad "Help Me Make It Through The Night" which Elvis only sang twice during this season. Perry Como's "It's Impossible" is a song first sang by Elvis in July 1971 during a show in Lake Tahoe. The song was an almost steady on the setlist during this August season, but after this season it only turned up once more on the setlist in February 1972. The always The powerful "It's Over", probably best known from his famous "Aloha From Hawaii" debuted also in July 1971 and is also featured on this set.
Especially knowing no soundboard recordings have yet surfaced, these audience recorded shows are all we are able to enjoy.
A total of 3 shows are included in this box set. All recordings have been painstakingly remastered & repaired.
Included in this box set are:
August 16 1971 midnight show/ August 18 dinner show / August 19 dinner show.
EIN NOTE: These were previously bootlegged on SR’s 'Trying To Get To Memphis', 'Setting The Standard' and 'Rock And Beauty' all in very poor audio quality. Buyer Beware.

‘Well, It's Christmas Time Pretty Baby: Songs Of Christmas’ New CD: The publicity notes… Elvis' fourth studio album was released in October 1957 and was titled "Elvis' Christmas Album". The album was a very clever move by Elvis' record company. Probably the Colonel also had his (big) part in this commercial masterpiece. The foldout sleeve contained a full sized 12 page booklet containing some very handsome pictures shot during the filming of "Jailhouse Rock". So this album was really something for everybody. According to the Record Industry Association Of America the album along with its reissues is the best selling Christmas album of all time. All original new tracks were recorded at the Radio Recorders studio in Hollywood .
Radio recorders™ brings you a fully packed CD containing 27 masters & alternate tracks from the sessions plus bonus tracks. Some highlights are the outtakes of "peace in the valley" & "it is no secret" taken from the original binaural tapes, these include some nice studio banter and are not released before in this quality. Previous releases offered a very weak sound for these.
All recordings on this compact disc are carefully restored and remastered. They never sounded better, it’s like you are right there in the studio.
EIN NOTE: All previously released by FTD, Elvis ONE or MRS. And what a terrible cover design, something Parker might do!

‘Blowin' In The Wind’ Import CD: As EIN noted last year, the Elvis bootleg barrel is as empty as a Politician's promises.
The publicity notes.. Reel-Trax proudly presents: ‘Blowin´ In The Wind’ – 21 great tracks that will blow you away! Remasters, remixes, new edits plus a selection of original recordings that will offer you a totally new listening experience.
‘Blowin´ In The Wind’ offers you songs like the home recording of ‘Fools Rush In’ that now almost sounds like a crystal clear studio recording. Also revealed on this album for the first time is that what is noted on the ‘From Elvis In Nashville’ Boxset as a jam version of ‘Mystery Train’, could actually very well be a slower version of ‘See See Rider’. Also the unique live recording of ‘Where No One Stands Alone’. This version now comes with new overdubs in a similar vein as ‘Unchained Melody’. This and much more is to be discovered on this great new album on the Reel-Trax label. An entirely new listening experience – you should not miss it!
Let´s go deeper into some essential tracks of the CD:
Fools Rush In: This record gets kicked off with the Frank Sinatra inspired arrangement of ''Fools Rush In'', Nelson Riddle and his Orchestra accompanied Sinatra on his 1960 recording. Elvis is singing to the 1959 Album '''Sing A Song With Riddle'' and does the same for ''It's A Sin To Tell A Lie''. Both versions are unique and one can only imagine what it would have sounded like if Elvis had done these in a studio with these arrangements.
Similarly, Elvis also sings with a different record featuring instrumentals this time - ''Sing A Song With The Kingston Trio''. However, this does not actually feature the group but is rather a tribute to the group's music and has instrumental recreations of their hits. Elvis and his group of friends decided to sing to ''500 Miles'' and ''Blowin´ In The Wind'', these songs are now newly mixed for optimum sound quality, blending the home recording with the actual recording from the record.
''Beyond The Reef'' is the overdubbed master and conveys the same feeling as the other songs on this CD. It is the rejected single master.
While the song ''Almost'' was a studio recording, Elvis´ lonesome and weary vocal combined with touching piano playing makes for a fine addition to the classical feel of this record.
''What Now My Love'' can almost be considered a totally different song, with none of the later bombastic arrangement. We have Elvis and his group singing along to some fun piano playing in a more uptempo beat as opposed to the dramatic version that would later be one of the highlights on his ''Aloha From Hawaii'' record, while ''Suppose'' was a test recording for an Elvis session. It was later decided to use the home recording vocal for the eventual master which was overdubbed. Here we have a undubbed version.
''Tennessee Waltz'' is a re-created version, which has been overdubbed and re-edited. The reason for this is because the whole song gets spoiled by Elvis laughing and joking and we tried to make a much more serious version here – listen to the result!
''See See Rider'' is another imagining of what could have been. When released in 2020 on ''From Elvis In Nashville'', it was wrongly listed as ''Mystery Train''. If you pay attention and listen closely, you can obviously hear it's ''See See Rider'' and the proof is right here, as a Live Vocal was mixed onto the instrumental. This is the closest to a 1970 studio version you will find.
''Don't Cry Daddy'' and ''In The Ghetto'' are both special overdubbed versions showing more of the beauty of Elvis his vocal.
01 - Fool's Rush In (Elvis singing along with a Nelson Riddle LP album)
02 - It's A Sin To Tell a Lie (Elvis singing along with a Nelson Riddle LP album)
03 - 500 Miles (New Version)
04 - Beyond The Reef (Overdubbed version - rejected single master)
05 - Almost (Take 3)
06 – Blowin´ In The Wind (Clean Master – edited)
07 - What Now My Love (Home recording - remastered)
08 - Suppose (Home recording)
09 -Tennessee Waltz (Remixed - edited)
10 - See See Rider (Nashville / Las Vegas 1970 Mashup with added piano)
11 - I Can't Help It (If I'm Still In Love With You) (Home recording)
12 - Don't Cry Daddy (2019 Remix Overdub)
13 - In The Ghetto (2022 Remix Overdub)
14 - If I Loved You (Home recording)

'(It's Fun) Having Elvis On Stage' New DVD: A brand new STAR dvd out now, and it is just the thing the fans have been waiting for!
Lots and lots of 'Sold Out' footage has been released in the last months, great stuff to collect, but it is simply no fun watching it due to bad edits, out of sync sound or both.
STAR has used some of the best performances out there and combined them into a great new release.
Most of these performances are complete. We see and hear Elvis do lots of great songs including rarities like "I'm Leavin' ", "Bosom Of Abraham / You Better Run" and "Big Boss Man"
Not only do we get great songs from soundboard, some tracks even have MULTI TRACK audio, like "Fairytale" (Spring Tours) it is a great version and you can see and hear Elvis frustration at the end when there is a problem with the mike, he runs over to Charlie and throws the damn thing on the ground, you can hear it fall.
Other Multitrack recordings include: "If You Love Me" (Spring Tours), "That's All Right /Proud Mary" (MSG Evening) "Heartbreak Hotel /I’ve Lost You/ Love Me Tender/Words/Sweet Caroline" (August 1970)
The STAR team also wanted to show in this release Elvis connection with the crowd, funny moments, getting gifts etc, to give you the total "Elvis Experience".
Including performances from different tours and years. It really shows "It's fun having Elvis on Stage"
A total of 33 tracks and some bonus tracks will blow you away!
Limited to 500 copies!

'The Moon Is Falling' New Import CD: Straight Arrow has released quite a few of Elvis Summer '73 headline shows, however, the opening and closing performances were always remarkable events and this AUDIENCE RECORDING is no exception! "Also Sprach Zarathustra" was played in famous Eumir Deodato arrangement. Elvis performed "Trouble" / "Raised On Rock" plus another rarity, "Memphis Tennessee" and the premiere of "My Boy".
When the "American Trilogy" began, a round projection screen has descended and Elvis was turning and seeing it but obviously not expecting it, saying "Good God, the moon is falling. Wish they'd tell me these things." They showed slides of Abraham Lincoln, the declaration of independence but Elvis was obviously not comfortable with it and that was the only night the "moon" was used.
The Las Vegas, August 6th, 1973 Opening Night was previously released by in rather flat sound by Memory Records (2008, "RAISED ON VEGAS" CD). The sound, nevertheless, was still far from the best. Straight Arrow was fortunate enough to obtain two independent tapes of this concert which are not in circulation (one of them from Rex Martin personal collection). For this ultimate release both tapes were combined to get the best possible result. Every second was enhanced to achieve the optimal listening experience. The sound was remastered to the correct speed. If you have enjoyed our previous Summer of '73 season CDs, we believe that you will love this one as well. Ask your local CD vendor for teasers!
Presented in the usual Straight Arrow fashion with the top notch digipak including the photos of Elvis in Summer of '73, excerpts from "World-Wide Elvis News Service" magazine and reprint of souvenir menu, this new release is the beauty that you must not miss!

'Behind The Curtain' New Import CD: The January 26, 1972 opening show re-release on soundboard. From Next Generation Records a "re-release" as their debut release (EIN asks, Why bother?). The 50th anniversary from the original tape with better audio, giving younger fans the opportunity to get this show.
This show is historic on its own as it marks the first time a very different Elvis show was presented to the audience. New songs were added, the Three Dog Nights tune ''Never Been To Spain'', Elvis' latest 45RPM Single ''Until It's Time For You To Go'' and bringing a song from his back catalogue by including ''A Big Hunk 'O Love'', a song never performed live before, despite having been recorded back in 1958, and Mickey Newbury's ''An American Trilogy''.
The true fan knows how important this show was and is to the Elvis Presley story, with this release we hope to provide you a brand new listening experience, some rare bonus tracks from the 1972 recorded multi-tracks have been included to close out the disc which we are sure you'd enjoy.
This is a jewel case release that's presented with a 16 page booklet with information, rare newspaper reviews, eye witness reviews and some unpublished super-rare photos taken during this season!
Get it now and be sure you don't miss ''Elvis: Behind The Curtain''
EIN Note: Previously out as 'Opening Night 72' and as Audionics 'The Talk Of The Town' in 2008, with the "best tracks" released officially by FTD on 'An American Trilogy'. Which collector needs this again?

'From Sea To Shining Sea' DVD/CD Import: Millbranch Music is back on track after rave reviews for our 2021 mega-release “Kansas City ´74 Revisited”. And we nail it again with a great concept of “Music & Video” in one set! We have worked for months to make sure that our latest product corresponds to the high standard we set.
The result is that we are now able to present a new 3-Disc (+ 1) Digipack release for every serious “Elvis live in the 70´s” – collector! If you liked our last release, you will like this new one.
Introducing our latest “Soundboard” release on the “MBM” label here are three complete 1976 shows by Elvis and his exciting group of musicians from 1976 on audio cd. That alone would give a nice listen but hey, there is one more disc in this set and that is for sure the cream of the crop: 134 Minutes of rare and in big parts unreleased (!) film footage in never before seen stunning quality of Elvis´ concert journey “from sea to shining sea”
between two historic New Years Eve performances in 1976. Which means in detail, that we are telling the story of the “Elvis On Tour” bicentennial year on stage and even while travelling!
Taken from the very best available sources (including a lot of footage taken from original film-reels) you´ll see highlights from his concerts in Pontiac, MI – Johnson City, TN (featuring the very first live version of “Hurt”) – Charlotte, NC – Largo, MD - Hartford, CT – Chicago, IL – Birmingham, AL - Atlanta, GA and Pittsburgh, PA, with very special and lengthy features of his concerts in Fort Worth, TX (June 3), Philadelphia, PA (June 28) and Anaheim, CA (November 30).
Over the last years we did invest in a lot of original film-reels. Early this year we had the opportunity to invest in one of Elvis´ Fort Worth performance
(June 3, 1976) –
and so we did. The 30 minutes of pleasantly steady and pretty close to the stage filmed footage has been for sure worth every dollar we have spent on it. The film-reel has then been scanned in 4K Ultra HD resolution, just to make sure that we can extract as much detail as possible from the analogue film. The outcome of the scan has then been carefully processed to retrieve the best possible result from the originally a bit overexposed film. If you compare the starting material and the end result after processing with the best available technology you would not believe how much of information still is there in the original film which of course had to be worked on carefully (and time-consuming) to finally enjoy it as not even the guy who filmed it back then could. So you can expect something special from this – and also this is the main reason why we chose to put Elvis´ two 1976-Concert dates in Fort Worth as the main part of the audio on two of the cds. And there is a third cd that is presented in its own sleeve outside of the digi-pack – a so-called “Bonus CD”: Anaheim, CA from November 30, 1976 has been chosen as this concert has its own special feature on the DVD included.
Talking about audio: We have decided already last year with our first “Soundboard” release, that we are using today´s technical possibilities to get out the very best of those treasured “old” tapes. So, again we have used all of our experience and knowledge plus professional equipment to make sure the audio sounds more balanced and clearer than ever before. Needless to say that speed issues are a thing of the past. While processing this, it even turned out to become Stereo! Give it a listen and you will hear what we mean – you will enjoy it!
Don´t waste any minute and make sure to order it while you can from your local dealer!

'American Sound - From The Acetates' New Import: While last year the previously excellent Madison label promised a 'A Legendary Elvis Vol.10' it never happened after EIN pointed out that they were ripping off fans. Now they are back with the publicity promising ..
.. Madison is back once more and happy to present a brand new limited edition CD release containing some fantastic acetate recordings.
Fans have frequently expressed a strong wish to hear Elvis as he sounded in the studio, undiluted by overdubs and excessive vocal backing, and now is your chance to hear exactly this.
Madison is bringing you the first of a series containing rare acetates - (EIN note - this sounds like bootlegger desperation to make cash) - this first volume contains tracks recorded between the 1970 Nashville sessions to the 1976 jungle room sessions, these songs have had plenty of releases over the past decades from their respective master tapes but the acetates have remained mostly in private collections.
On this disc you are provided with a unique listening experience, the acetates and their different mixes will take you back to the time Elvis was listening to these.
Listen to some fantastic tracks like the unedited full length version of ''Don't Think Twice, It's All Right'' which has a different mix compared to previous official outings, and the stereo acetate of the undubbed version of ''Help Me Make It Through The Night'' the stunning ''Loving Arms'' and lonesome ''Hurt'', and the stand out track is most definitely ''Miracle Of The Rosary'' which features Elvis his full length vocal overdub, which has not been released before in this form.
This Limited Edition CD is presented in optimum sound quality, with respect for the historical content.
And as always with the Madison releases, it is presented in a jewel case with a 16 page booklet containing liner notes and some fantastic photos.
EIN Note: Once again the album includes multiple tracks that we believe have been previously released. Do fans really want 'acetates' of these if they are already released by FTD? Are bootleg collectors really that gullible?

‘ELVIS ON TOUR’ Official Announcement: The official SONY announcement has now been posted. EIN was correct with our news item yesterday and the release date is December 2, 2022
... 'Elvis On Tour' is a 6CD + 1 Blu-ray box set comprised of the audio from four of the shows (and two rehearsals) that were part of Elvis’ 1972 North American tour. Originally recorded for the Elvis On Tour concert film that was released later that year, the set features a total of 145 tracks, including 91 previously unreleased tracks, as well as the award-winning concert film on Blu-ray.
It includes 3 Unreleased Elvis Concerts plus the San Antonio Concert Remixed, Pre-Tour Rehearsals and 'Best Documentary Film' Golden Globe winner film on Blu-ray
Release date Friday, December 2.

Fans can get their first taste with the previously unreleased "Burning Love (Rehearsal 2)" recorded live at RCA Recording Studios in Hollywood in March 1972.
RCA/Legacy's Elvis On Tour box set is produced by Ernst Mikael Jørgensen and mixed by Grammy Award-winning Memphis-based producer Matt Ross-Spang.
The original recordings were made by Felton Jarvis and Al Pachucki.

Disc 1 live April 9, 1972, Hampton Roads Coliseum, Hampton, Virginia, and contains all previously unreleased material.
Disc 2 live April 10, 1972, Richmond Coliseum, Richmond, Virginia, and contains all previously unreleased material.
Disc 3 live April 14, 1972, Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, North Carolina, and contains all previously unreleased material.
Disc 4 live April 18, 1972, Convention Center San Antonio, TX previously on 2003 'Elvis: Close-Up' remixed for this release.
Disc 5 On Tour rehearsals, recorded live at RCA Recording Studios in Hollywood, California, on March 30 and 31, 1972. The disc is comprised primarily of previously unreleased tracks. (EIN Note: the 2004 FTD 'Elvis On Tour - The Rehearsals' featured some great highlights)
Disc 6 completes Elvis' rehearsals with his band at RCA Recordings Studios on March 31, 1972. The disc includes previously unreleased takes on Kris Kristofferson's 'For The Good Times' plus others already released.
As Elvis Presley’s national tour played to sold-out secondary markets across the country in 1972, Elvis was enjoying himself on-stage and finding electrifying new ways of connecting to audiences at every show. Working with a band and set lists of his choosing, Elvis was channeling the music he loved most--from pop and gospel and traditional country to blues and rock and contemporary hits--while transforming his own greatest hits with fresh arrangements, turning nostalgia into an unforgettable concert experience packed with immediacy.
-
Award-winning filmmakers Pierre Adidge and Robert Abel (Mad Dogs & Englishmen) went on the road with Elvis Presley and his band with all-access passes, cameras and crew to chronicle the
King of Rock & Roll at his on-stage peak in MGM’s Elvis On Tour documentary film. The film captures Elvis, the human being driving the myth, behind-the-scenes backstage with his eyes open and his defenses down. According to MGM's original press release, the Elvis On Tour film "offers the first intimate look at the enigmatic country boy who became the world's most celebrated musician." Both documentary and concert film, Elvis On Tour features

montage sequences supervised by Martin Scorsese. The film was released on November 1, 1972.
-
The Elvis On Tour box set includes fascinating behind-the-scenes liner notes by Jerry Schilling, a longtime personal friend and member of Elvis' inner circle.
-
The set also features an illuminating essay by rock historian/musician Warren Zanes, founding member of The Del Fuegos and Professor at New York University. According to Zanes: "The set lists and the performances of the Elvis On Tour period bring a rare thing: a fifties legend working in the early seventies who was still taking his audiences to new places.... 'Elvis For You' New Import CD: RD 7586 Elvis For You (the album that never was). Back in June of 1964 The Elvis Monthly reported that this album was due at any time & also listed the 10 tracks that would be featured. It would contain the tracks from Loving You + the added bonus songs Summer Kisses, Winter Tears & Flaming Star as the 2 songs had not yet been issued in the U.K.
Once again in 1964 The Elvis Monthly reported the release
date unknown but this never happened.
In the April of 1965 Albert Hand reported that he had received a demo copy of the RD 7586 album with another 2 added songs making it a 12 track album, the added 2 songs were Are You Lonesome Tonight & It’s Now Or Never.
On release the album was issued only this time it was as RD 7723 Flaming Star & Summer Kisses.
Later a Decca engineer had a few demo albums he wanted to sell, including the RD 7586 Elvis For You. Now you can enjoy the album that never was. We hope you enjoy this anomaly.
EIN Note: Surely Elvis bootleg buyers can compile this for themselves!

'Elvis: Pine Bluff to Madison '76' FTD In-depth Review: FTD continues their extensive look at Elvis' performances in 1976 with another two previously unreleased concerts. This set features two shows: Pine Bluff Convention Center, September 8, 1976 830pm and Dane County Coliseum, Madison, October 19, 1976 8.30pm.
FTD have already released plenty of soundboards from these two tours including September 6, 1976 Afternoon and Evening shows ‘Elvis In Alabama: The Last Double Date’ and the day before Sioux Falls, Oct 18 (On The Road With Elvis CD2).
By early 1976 Elvis’ set-list had become routine with few surprises along the way and while the Pine Bluff performance has the energy of the Closing show of the tour fans surely don't want to hear Elvis suggest that “we should rehearse more before we tour”!
Elvis soundboard super-collector Geoffrey McDonnell and EIN's Piers Beagley check out this new FTD 1976 double-pack to see whether it is another essential release for your collection.

'ELVIS' Movie Soundtrack VINYL release: Baz Luhrmann confirmed that - as expected - there will be a VINYL release of the 'ELVIS' Original Movie Soundtrack.
House of Iona / RCA Records will release the highly anticipated VINYL version of the 'ELVIS Original Motion Picture Soundtrack'. The soundtrack album features highlights from Baz Luhrmann’s blockbuster film ELVIS. The soundtrack has a variety of artists, mixing different genres and sounds to create something special alongside the movie. It features tracks from some of the biggest stars – Eminem & CeeLo Green (“The King and I’), Tame Impala (“Edge of Reality (Remix)” with Elvis Presley), Stevie Nicks & Chris Isaak (“Cotton Candy Man”) and Jack White’s duet with Elvis Presley (“Power of My Love”). From Kacey Musgraves’ angelic version of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” to Doja Cat’s “Vegas”
the album blends the old classics with a unique flare that brings new life to these Elvis Presley classics.

'(Seemingly) Non-Stop Summer' New Import: Since the launch of the Straight Arrow Label in the year 2005 many interesting concert sound tracks of Elvis’ 1974 have come into the light. And we are pleased to bring to you yet another AUDIENCE RECORDED concert show by Elvis, performed just before the cancellation of the shows scheduled for August 26th. Elvis was feeling under the weather at that time, he had a fever and on advice from his personal physician he took a short bed rest. To no surprise the sensation seeking journalists immediately blamed Elvis’ condition on a drug use. Elvis was obviously hurt and upset and as soon as he had recovered, he addressed these speculations sincerely, bluntly and publicly right from the stage. You are about to enjoy his last performance before „the collapse“. There is no intention to claim that Elvis’ health was rock solid and without issues. However, immerse yourselves in our unique recording from that very night and make your own opinion. An unexpected exhaustion of the King put a halt to the never-ending chain of his summer concerts in 1974. Just on August 27th he was back in the Hilton hotel showroom as a star.
The Las Vegas, August 25th, 1974 Midnight Show is previously unreleased in any form. Straight Arrow was fortunate enough to
obtain an early generation copy of the original audience-recorded cassette. Every second was enhanced to achieve the optimal listening experience. If you have enjoyed our previous summer of ’74 season CDs, we believe that you will love this one as well. Ask your local CD vendor for teasers! Presented in the usual Straight Arrow fashion with the top notch digipak including photos of Elvis in leather “Mermaid Jumpsuit” from August of ’74, this new release is the beauty that you must not miss!
Tracklist: 1. Introduction: Also Sprach Zarathustra - 02. C. C. Rider - 03. I Got A Woman / Amen - 04. Love Me - 05. If You Love Me (Let Me Know) - 06. It's Midnight - 07. Big Boss Man - 08. Fever - 09. Love Me Tender - 10. All Shook Up - 11. The Wonder Of You - 12. I'm Leavin' - 13. Softly As I Leave You (with Sherrill Nielsen) - 14. Hound Dog - 15. You Gave Me A Mountain - 16. Polk Salad Annie - 17. Introductions of singers, musicians, orchestra / Guadalajara (one line) - 18. If You Talk In Your Sleep - 19. Why Me Lord? - 20. Can't Help Falling In Love - 27. Closing Vamp / Announcements.
All tracks recorded live from audience on August 25th, 1974 Midnight Show.

'Aloha From Hawaii' Deluxe FTD indepth Review: When seeking Elvis' key career highpoints, if one goes by the sales and the audience viewing numbers, there is only one answer. Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite. RCA’s double album of the show was released throughout the world in February 1973 and shot to the #1 spot in many countries including the U.S. It is certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA.
While in 2013 RCA/ Legacy released the '40th Anniversary edition' sadly the audio of the main concert left much to be desired.
In 2022 FTD released this upgraded 'Aloha From Hawaii' set with Matt Ross-Spang remixing the original broadcast - plus including the full after-concert 3am 'Insert Song' session in a 3-CD set. In 'large-size 8" format with 24 page booklet it is a stunning package.

However EIN has had numerous requests for a detailed review of this Aloha set as fans haven't been able to decide whether it is worth buying (for US$65) all over again.
To help, EIN's Piers Beagley provides an indepth review to see whether it is really worth buying one more time....

'Mid-South Coliseum, Memphis, 5th July 1976' New CD: Released this month by the Rox Vox label is Elvis' last Memphis concert in 1976. Previously bootlegged as 'Goodbye Memphis'. Two rather strange things about this possibly-illegal release are that a) it is available through Amazon b) it features Elvis in 1975 on the cover!
The Rox Vox publicity notes... Although he was in poor shape and nearing the end of his life, in the summer of '76 Elvis was still pulling in huge crowds and putting on rapturously received shows. Backed by his trusty band – led by the legendary James Burton's lead guitar – he appeared in his teenage hometown on July 5th. Although it was a Monday, 12,000 people turned up to hear him tear through a lengthy set featuring material from the length of his career. It’s presented in full here, together with an 8-page booklet featuring background notes and images.

EIN NOTE: The show is one of Elvis' better ones from 1976 and it is a surprise that FTD have never released this set officially.

'Elvis Rocks The Garden' Import OUT NOW: This was announced way back in January 2021, but has been delayed until now! From the Straight Arrow label.. In 2020 we obtained two quality tapes of other NYC concerts from June 10th Evening and June 11th, Afternoon.
Now all three AUDIENCE RECORDED shows including previously released June 9th MSG concert are released in one deluxe 3CD set.
We are fully aware that the June 10th Evening show was released several times officially by RCA from the professional multi-track tapes. Nevertheless, we have found an alternative source - an excellent audience-recorded tape! It brings you a whole new listening experience! The incredible audience reaction to every song will blow you away! The June 11th Afternoon show was released in 2010 from an inferior source. Once again, we have found an excellent audience-provided alternative.
Both the June 10th E/S and 11th A/S were recorded by the same person, using a reel-to-reel tape deck instead of usual the cassette recorder.
Presented in the usual top notch digipack

New Vinyl 'Elvis Presley The King and Colonel Parker: From Trailer Park To Graceland': The German 'Vinyl Magic' Public-Domain label has announced the release of this “unofficial” tie-in album to the Baz Luhrmann Elvis biopic. They state.. This summer, the new film, "Elvis“, is released in cinemas. This toxic but most successful partnership in music history also sets the stage for the album The King And Colonel Parker. It includes Elvis‘ first songs from Sun Records and all the big hits, of the King‘s first career, after Colonel Tom Parker had negotiated a gigantic contract with the RCA label and Elvis was bought out of his ongoing contract.
Colonel Parker was also the first music manager to have the idea of marketing singles specifically through motion pictures. The Colonel was also a pioneer in merchandise. Even in the young King‘s first year of success (1956), an incredible 22 million dollars was earned with Elvis merchandise.
Side A: 1. That‘s All Right, 2. Baby, Let‘s Play House, 3. I Forgot To Remember To Forget, 4. Heartbreak Hotel, 5. Hound Dog, 6. Don‘t Be Cruel, 7. Love Me Tender, 8. All Shook Up, 9. (Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear, 10. Jailhouse Rock

New visitors to EIN need to read our article 'The Collapse of the Elvis Bootleg Empire' - the EIN 2021 Spotlight may help explain these rather strange new bootleg releases below ..
'The 1971 Soundboard Collection & More Vol 2' Bootleg: This comprehensive deluxe set contains three fantastic sounding soundboard  recordings. Two were recorded during his first Vegas season in 1971 & one was recorded during his one and only live performance in Boston, Massachusetts. After finishing the closing show at the International Hotel (featured on this set) Elvis had a three week break until his first recording session of the year. This one day recording session in March 1971  resulted in one track being released on the Grammy-winning album “He Touched Me” and some cuts being released in 1972 on the “Elvis Now” and “Elvis” (Fool) album. The real studio work began in May & June of 1971. Following these recording sessions Elvis went back on tour again in July 1971. Sadly, no soundboard recordings of these shows have surfaced to date. The Boston November recording is the only recording of a tour show. Obviously a show this big creates a complete different ambiance.
Available in a red and blue vinyl edition. Included are: 3 vinyl records - 3 compact discs - a fold out poster -  bonus photo
EIN NOTE: These must be for vinyl collectors as these soundboards have all recently been released in greatly improved "stereo" by UK's MRS label - why would anyone want these on bootleg?

'Elvis at the Astrodome' Import Boxset: Another low-quality boxset... . The "Tupelo" label announces a new 6 CD and 1 DVD boxset.
It features the six shows from the Houston Astrodome in 1970 and they are all AUDIENCE recordings.

EIN NOTE: As collectors know the Houston Astrodome audience recordings are - sadly - all pretty un-listenable.

The Tupelo label has posted a YouTube trailer (notice that comments are turned off!) where they present 'the BEST' of this new set. It is not a trailer that I think leaves one wanting more.

'ELVIS: The Dream Project' New Import CD: This was publicised by the Victrola label over a year ago, but it is finally being released.
The publicity notes... "Not the usual re-release, but a fresh new project in the completely upgraded sound!
All songs have been restored, remixed into stereo and we bet you will love the result!
Ann Nixon, who is a very famous Elvis fan, said it all: "Seeing and hearing Elvis live is a happening in itself. No gramophone record can reflect the sound of Elvis' voice as he sounded in the real life.
The dynamic range and the power that came with his voice were never captured like people really experienced it live."
Nowadays there are countless recordings of Elvis' shows, and with this project we want to try to show you how it was to experience the real Elvis live in Las Vegas as had you been there in person.
Our dream was to restore this unique collection of live songs that Elvis performed during his Vegas years to their fullest glory.
In this project we used the 1970 "On Stage" album as a template and we dreamt of what an original Elvis album would have looked like in the mid 70s.
An LP version will be released later this year. All selections sound fresh and lively like never before!
EIN Note: A selection of 'Best Of' mono soundboard tracks mixed to "fake" stereo.

Four New French Releases: For the 45th Anniversary of Elvis' passiing, the French label VPT is releasing four cool collector’s items in late July.
-    "The Forgotten Album"
In 2020 the album “Oublié” (Forgotten Album) was released to fill the void left by RCA France which in 1956 had not thought it useful to release Elvis' very first LP. Now it is also supplemented by bonuses from the same period, studio and live, thus offering the theme a real vision of the advent of the greatest musical phenomenon of the 20th century and which is still more present today than ever!...
- "Something For Everybody" (with Alternate Tracks)
In 2016 the label had brought out the album “Something For Everybody” in its original form while proposing only alternate takes. The concept is extended here with all the songs recorded in 1961, many of which would reach the top of the best-seller lists: “His Latest Flame”, “Good Luck Charm”… just like the EP from the film “Follow That Dream ”. A real brand-new concept album in this form.
- "Elvis Sings The Mad Professor" (with Alternate Tracks)
Now completed with the previously missing Ben Weisman titles from the vinyl LP of the same name and with alternate takes of sings like “Don't Leave Me Now” and “Steppin' Out of Line,” this is a brand-new concept-album devoted to the composer who wrote more songs recorded by the King than any other songwriter!
- "Le Retour D'Elvis"  (with Alternate Tracks)
The double album “Le retour d'Elvis / His Hand in Mine” released in 2016 had a true concept based on Presley's 1960 return to civilian life. This time the concept is total since we include bonus tracks not only all the other titles recorded in the 1960 sessions, but also versions of some of these songs recorded at the Pearl Harbor concert and more. “His Hand in Mine” is also completed with the four gospels recorded in 1957.
all to be released 15 July 2022

FTD New July Releases: FTD are releasing two neat collections for July 2022. The "complete" 1963/64 ‘Lost Album’ Sessions plus a 3CD set of three 1973 Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe Midnight shows.
- 'Devil In Disguise: the ‘Lost Album’ Sessions' 3-CD.
As part of its acclaimed ‘Sessions' series, FTD is pleased to announce the release of Elvis Presley: Devil In Disguise – The ‘Lost Album’ Sessions - in the usual 3-CD 8” digi-pak with 28-page booklet. Recorded, for the most part, over two days in July 1963, these varied and excellent performances ended up being scattered over several RCA Victor releases between 1963 and 1968. It would not be until 1990 that the songs finally appeared as originally intended on a proper RCA vinyl album. Almost 60-years later, FTD presents all of the masters and outtakes available from the sessions.
EIN Note: All the tracks except 'Love Me Tonight'  take 7 false start were previously released on FTD's 'Memphis Tennessee' 2008 Classic Album. Hopefully there will be more unreleased 'count ins' and snippets of
studio banter but there is not much more here that hasn't already been released. Check out the released tracks at Keith Flynn's brilliant website.
Of course if you enjoy the FTD "Complete Sessions" concept then it has to be a essential purchase to follow on from their wonderful 'Pot Luck Sessions'

See 'Elvis FTD / SONY News 2022' for details and tracklists

- 'Elvis: From Vegas To Tahoe' 3-CD
As part of its ongoing live on tour series, FTD is pleased to announce the release of Elvis: From Vegas To Tahoe. Released as a 3-CD 5” digi-pak, this set features three 1973 midnight shows recorded on January 27 / February 21 (Las Vegas Hilton) and May 12 1973 (High Sierra Theatre, Sahara Hotel, Lake Tahoe)

EIN Note: Two tracks from May 12 1973 concert have been previously released by FTD on 2003’s ‘Takin’ Tahoe Tonight’ and they were rather good. See review here. Elvis was still in good form in 1973 and all three are ‘Midnight Shows’ making them all the more interesting.  Including You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me, Steamroller Blues, I’m Leavin’, What Now My Love and I’ll Remember You, this could be a very enjoyable set. Note that it is priced at a 1/3 more than the usual FTD double-live set.

'Midnight In Las Vegas' New Import CD: The Ampex label is back with a brand new unreleased AUDIENCE RECORDING ''Midnight In Las Vegas'' featuring the midnight show on March 24th 1975.
As everybody knows the concerts Elvis gave during his March/April season in las Vegas was a very strong one, there were no weak performances and every show was sold out. This was a very different Elvis and the setlist reflected that, more often then not Elvis would only perform 2 or 3 of his classics during this season and he mostly relied on new material along with material introduced about a year earlier.
During this concert Elvis performs great versions of ''Promised Land'' ''Fairytale'' ''It's Midnight'' ''My Boy'' ''I'll Remember You'' ''Hawaiian Wedding Song'' and Interestingly David Briggs decided to play a different solo on this night playing an instrumental version of ''T-R-O-U-B-L-E'' a song that wouldn't be added to the setlist until the following tour, we even have Elvis going ''Say hey!'' during this short solo.
Elvis also introduces the legendary disc jockey, actor and musician ''Wolfman Jack'' which Elvis mentions that he's known him for a long time and that they'd been watching each other for years and that Jack had been hosting ''The Midnight Special'' (which ran from 1973 to 1981).
This release comes in a single digipack which contains some stunning photos from this season and you don't want to miss this release.

'A Real Pleasant Performance' New Import CD: BJ Records is proud to present their second release ''A Real Pleasant Performance'' - a 2CD package containing two concerts newly mixed into matrix stereo sound. (Audience / Soundboard audio combined)
The concerts presented here were recorded on February 13 in West Palm Beach and February 14 1977 in St. Petersburgh and while these shows have been released previously from the soundboard tapes they deserved a brand new make-over and have never sounded better,
we've gone back and mixed the two shows from scratch and took it to a new level by mixing in the audience recordings from these shows giving the two shows new depth and wider sound detail and showing clear improvements to an otherwise standard soundboard.
Listen to great performances of ''It's Now Or Never'' the great crowd interaction during ''Fever'' a stunning ''My Way'' and touching ''And I Love You So'' and not to forget the two versions of ''Blueberry Hill'' among other highlights. Plus bonus performances included of ''Trying To Get To You'' ''Release Me'' ''Unchained Melody'' ''How Great Thou Art'' and the one and only live performance of ''Where No One Stands Alone''.  We're sure you'll be pleasantly Surprised at the sound and this deserves to be in everyone's collection.
This release is presented in a digipak containing some fantastic brand new photos from West Palm Beach along with other 1977 photos.
EIN Note: Elvis in 1977 - is 'A Real Pleasant Performance' really all the producers of this CD thought of the show? That's sad.

As always tracks have been re-edited for your listening pleasure, lots of talk and background noise has been deleted.
Also some splices were done to create new complete tracks.
Once you reach the bonus tracks, you will be in for a real treat, as they have been remastered and now you can hear the tracks, which Elvis overdubbed "live" by humming along, in a much better sound!
Includes, 'Apron Strings', 'Earth Angel', 'Soldier Boy', 'Her Hand in Mine (edit)', 'Like A Baby (edit)' ...
This cd, again, is Meant To Be Played, where other releases are for collecting.

3. Elvis Rockin' The Early Sixties: Maybe difficult to believe now, but when Elvis Presley returned from the Army in March 1960 he wasn’t too sure how his career would turn out after such a long absence. New stars arose like Ricky Nelson & Fabian. Needless to say now is that Elvis wouldn’t have to worry too much. Right after his dispatch from the army, he would already appear prime time on the Timex special with Frank Sinatra. This disc features 20 early sixties tracks which make you wanna swing & swirl. Fantastic "rockin" tracks in a restored and remastered sound quality. They never sounded better, it’s like you are right there in the studio.Right after his dispatch from the army, he would already appear prime time on the Timex special with Frank Sinatra. The Colonel decided to use already recorded material, which saved Elvis some days of studio work. Of course, all the tracks had to be administered by Elvis’ own publishing company. This would create more income once the movie was released. This album features 31 great tracks related to this 1965 motion picture. This includes alternate takes, soundtrack versions and tracks that were suggested by the Colonel to be used in the movie but didn’t make it. FTD - Three New April Releases: FTD have announced three new releases for next month. A 1976 double-soundboard, a Kid Galahad double Vinyl LP, plus a new book on 'Elvis Presley movie memorabilia 1956-1958'.
1- 'Elvis: Madison to Pine Bluff ’76': As part of its ongoing live on tour series, FTD is pleased to announce the release of ‘Elvis: Pine Bluff To Madison ‘76’.
Released as a 2-CD 5” digi-pak, this set features two shows: Dane County Coliseum, Madison, Wisconsin October 19, 1976 8.30pm  and Pine Bluff Convention Center, Arkansas, September 8, 1976 - 830pm. FTD have already releases plenty of soundboards from this tour including the day before Sioux Falls, Oct 18 (Bruce Jackson: On The Road With Elvis CD2) and September 6, 1976 Afternoon and Evening shows ‘Elvis In Alabama: The Last Double Date’
Both these 1976 shows - especially the Pine Bluff Closing show - are recommended by soundboard collectors
See 'FTD / SONY CD News 2022' for tracklists

2- “Kid Galahad” (2-LP Limited Edition)
FTD is pleased to announce the release of the first official ‘Kid Galahad’ vinyl soundtrack album. It is hard to believe that it was 60 years ago that this movie first made its debut. “King Of  The Whole Wide World” sounds as fresh today as it did then.
This 180gram 2-LP limited edition contains all the original soundtrack masters and many excellent alternative outtakes.

EIN finds this particularly surreal as one of the first Elvis 45rpm singles I ever bought was the ‘Kid Galahad’ EP.
... and now it is a double-vinyl release!

See 'FTD / SONY CD News 2022' for tracklists

3- Book – ‘Elvis: Celluloid Sell-Out!’
FTD Books presents ‘Elvis: Celluloid Sell-Out!’ from author Bob Pakes.
448 pages and over two thousand images of Worldwide Elvis Presley movie memorabilia from 1956-1958.
It’s packed with movie posters, lobby cards, pressbooks, publicity stills, programs, standees, heralds and much more!

Plus 2 bonus CDs featuring the soundtracks from ‘Love Me Tender’, ‘Loving You’, ‘Jailhouse Rock’ and ‘King Creole’.

EIN Notes – Bob Pakes previously published the stunning book ‘The EPE Catalog’ 400 pages and over 1,450 images on every weird and wonderful product that was part of the immensely successful 1956 Elvis Presley merchandise train.
See EIN’s interview with Bob Pakes here.

There can be no doubt that this book will be as thorough – though why fans need the movie soundtracks is anyone’s guess.

'On Stage' Legacy CD Re-Release: Once again the 'Music-On-CD' label are re-releasing the old SONY / RCA / Legacy recordings for 2022.
This time the 2010 double RCA-Legacy version of 'On Stage'.
The publicity notes... Back in 1970 ‘On Stage’ was an important step in Elvis’ live album releases and his musical back-on-stage renaissance. Elvis showed that he could find great country-funk-rock songs like stunning versions of Tony Joe White’s “Polk Salad Annie”, John Fogerty’s “Proud Mary” and Neil Diamond‘s “Sweet Caroline” while at the same time Elvis put his very soul on the line with an amazing “Release Me” and “Let It Be Me.” While the previous ‘Elvis In Person’ marvelously captured the stunning dynamite of a resurrected Elvis, ‘In Person’ is basically an album of old rock-n-roll hits, a stunning look-back with a slight look forward with ”Suspicious Minds” and “In The Ghetto”. On both albums Elvis is accompanied by James Burton, The Imperials and The Sweet Inspirations.
From 'Music-On-CD' -  MOCCD-14178
Format: 2 CD - priced at £21 = US$28
To be released May 6, 2022.

'Elvis At Stax' VINYL Reissue: The Music-On-Vinyl label are re-releasing the 2013 'Elvis At Stax" double-album this time on Blue Vinyl.
The publicity notes... Riding high on the success of Aloha From Hawaii, Elvis did something remarkable. He decided that his next recording project would be on his home turf Memphis, Tennessee. The most desirable studio in town was the red-hot STAX - the launching pad of such greats as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave and Isaac Hayes.
In 1973, Elvis assembled the very best musicians in town - members of Booker T. and The MGs, The Memphis Boys and his own TCB band to create the ultimate band and he searched for fresh new material that would reflect his new path. Songs as “I Got A Feelin' In My Body” and “Loving Arms” demonstrate an artist looking to broaden his palette and his reach.
All of the Stax material has been collected on Elvis At Stax and tells the great story of Elvis' new path.
The album is available as a limited edition of 2000 numbered copies on solid blue coloured vinyl.
This is a re-release of the SONY 2013 double-album and includes a neat selection of outtakes.
Catalog#MOVLP872 - Release date: 15 April, 2022 - Priced around US$30 on pre-order.

MRS 'Elvis: Mono To Stereo 1956' CD Review: At the end of last year the UK based MRS label released their Double CD/ Book 'Elvis: Mono To Stereo - The Complete RCA Studio Masters 1956'.
The set contains the complete 1956 RCA studio master recordings in mono and (DES extracted) stereo versions. These were thirty classic RCA recordings that would help change the future of popular music.
The accompanying 20-page booklet includes photographs and memorabilia plus introductory notes.
While 'DES Stereo' remastering can sometimes reveal new details about classic MONO studio recordings, trying to create believable stereo from echoey mono masters is not that easy, even when using "highly advanced sound processing techniques".
Can classic mono tracks such as 'Hound Dog', 'Don't Be Cruel', 'My Baby Left Me' and 'Heartbreak Hotel' really sound better in DES stereo?

EIN's Piers Beagley put on some good quality headphones to provide an in-depth review of this recent MRS release.

'Elvis: South Bound- Tampa / Atlanta '75' FTD in-depth Review: Mid 1975 found Elvis back in good form and having fun on stage. This 5" digipack double-soundboard features two more concerts from Elvis' 1975 Spring Tour. The Tampa April 26, 1975 Afternoon show at Curtis Hixon Convention Center plus Atlanta Omni Coliseum May 2, 1975 Evening Show.
Unfortunately soundboards from the start of this tour all have the same inherent 'problem' a HEAVY bias towards Piano tracks, there was often very little drums or orchestra in the mix. So can this release show us anything new?
But while collectors are right to be a little reticent about “Afternoon Shows” this soundboard is surprisingly enjoyable...

Go here as Elvis soundboard super-collector Geoffrey McDonnell & EIN's Piers Beagley check out the reality of this new FTD double-pack and discover Elvis having fun with his loving fans ..

'Live In Philadelphia' New Import: The Ampex label follows-up last year's ''Kickin' It Down In Baltimore' with our new release 'Live In Philadelphia' from November 8, 1971 in Philadelphia, PA. Out Now.
Elvis gave a stunning show at the Spectrum with reviews citing ''16,000 Scream as Presley Brings Back Rock and Roll'' and he did bring back Rock and Roll!
This show had everything an audience member could hope for with classics such as ''Heartbreak Hotel ''One Night'' ''Are You Lonesome Tonight'' among more recently recorded material like ''You Don't Have To Say You Love Me'' ''You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling'' and even gospel with ‘’How Great Thou Art’’.
Joining Elvis for one night only during this performance was Sweet Inspirations drummer Jerome ''Stump'' Monroe and while Jerome was unprepared he gave a different vibe to most of these songs. Jerome would fill in for Ronnie Tutt on a couple of occasions during the 70's (December 7, 1975 Las Vegas, NV and June 24, 1977 in Madison,WI).
Also during this show Elvis was backed by a 15-piece orchestra consisting of local musicians led by conductor Joe Guercio.
Here we present a brand new AUDIENCE RECORDING of the show, unfortunately the person who recorded the show ran out of battery near the end of ''Bridge Over Troubled Water'', we didn't want to present an incomplete show here due to the rare performance of ''The Impossible Dream'' so we decided to splice it and tag the rest of the show on from a second source to complete it.
This release should not be missed as it this digipack contains stunning photos taken during the show and Elvis show in Philadelphia ranks among one of his finest from the 1970's.
EIN has been informed that this is good quality for an audience recording.

'High Notes At The Kiel' New Import: The Rag Doll label is back with a brand new unreleased audience recoring performance! 'High Notes At The Kiel' contains Elvis his performance at Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis on June 28, 1973.
The June 1973 tour is often considered one of Elvis best tours and while this certainly is true, some dark stuff went on preceding Elvis show on June 28, 1973 in St. Louis, MO.
Back stage moments before Elvis was supposed to take the stage Vernon Presley called Dr. Nick to the singers hotel room, only to find an Elvis that was passed out barely breathing,
after an injection with a stimulant and putting Elvis in a bath tub full of cold water they put him in his nail studded jumpsuit and Elvis took the stage to loud applause.
Not showing any signs of what had happened only moments before. As seen in recently released 8mm footage one has to ask themselves was this story dramatized or was it all true?
For the first time we have an AUDIENCE RECORDING of the infamous concert containing one of Elvis his best versions of ''I Can't Stop Loving You'' and ''I'm Leavin’'' we also have a great performance of ''How Great Thou Art'' including a reprise, a
beautiful ''Help Me Make It Through The Night'' and ''What Now My Love'' among the recently introduced ''Rock 'N' Roll Medley'' and a rousing performance of ''Steamroller Blues''.
The person who recorded this show unfortunately missed the first and last song but the majority is here and worth listening to and should be part of any serious Elvis fan's collection.
We are releasing this as a digipack filled with pictures of the show.
EIN says check the sound quality before purchasing. Buyer Beware

Elvis 1971 Soundboards - How fascinating, Elvis bootleggers at war again! After last week's announcement of the bootleg 1971 five CD set (@ 20Euros per CD) - see below - now comes another bootleg release, 'The 1971 Soundboard Collection & More' a deluxe 6cd set costing 50 Euros!
'The 1971 Soundboard Collection & More' box-set: The publicity notes... featuring all known soundboard recordings plus the essential rare & alternate 1971 studio recordings.
This deluxe 6 CD set features recordings from 6 shows recorded during the first Vegas season plus one tour show recorded in Boston Massachusetts.
The first Vegas season of 1971 started on January 26 and finished February 23. During these shows Elvis sang some of the tracks from the just released “Elvis Country” album. Examples are “Make The World Go Away” ”There Goes My Everything” and “Snowbird”. All shows are presented as they were recorded: in glorious original mono sound.

In 1971 Elvis’ record company released three completely new studio albums, five 45 RPM singles, three Camden budget albums and one compilation box set. A highlight on this set is the only known live version of the (at the time) new song ”Only Believe”. A studio version would be released in June 1971 on the “Love Letters From Elvis” album, but the song was recorded a year earlier. The fully packed bonus section included in this set contains not less than 25 rare and official unreleased versions of studio tracks recorded in 1971. This disc features unedited masters, unreleased mono masters and further unedited recordings & alternate takes. The mono masters, like all of the tracks on this box set, are a huge improvement over previous releases. They never sounded better.
The (officially) unreleased version of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," initially recorded as a duet with Ginger Holladay, who was there during the sessions with her sister Mary to provide backup vocals, is another highlight on this bonus disc. There are three additional versions of this great song featured as well.
Get this ultimate deluxe edition while it's still available; it'll round up your collection, along with the official deluxe album releases and the recent 1971 Nashville release.

'Aloha From Hawaii' FTD 3CD set: When seeking key career highpoints, Elvis’ multi-faceted musical legacy certainly divides opinion amongst fans and critics alike. However, if one goes by the sales and the audience viewing numbers too, there is only one answer. Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite.
- RCA’s double album of the show was released throughout the world in February and shot to the #1 spot in many countries including the U.S. The album went to #1 on the Billboard album chart and reigned supreme from late February until late October, re-entering in late December for another two months. Today in the U.S. the album stands at 5.5 million sales and is certified 5x Platinum by the RIAA.
- To acknowledge this achievement, FTD is proud to present an upgraded re-release of Aloha From Hawaii Via Satellite utilizing the talents of successful Memphian recording engineer Matt-Ross Spang who has newly remixed the original broadcasted show and the after-concert 3:00 AM crowd-less masters including rehearsal performances for the first time. Also included is the Sony Legacy 2013 remix of the rehearsal show from January 12. (Recommended by EIN! See review)
- Packaged in FTD's ‘complete sessions’ style 8” x 8” slipcase, this deluxe 3-CD contains a 28-page color booklet, great photos, memorabilia and insightful essay.
CD3 Features the extra tracks recorded after the audience had gone home (EIN Note: Who thought that was a fair idea!!) several of these outakes / rehearsals have not been previously released officially.
Go here for full tracklist and details - - - - - Priced around £45 = US$62 - To be released next month.

Starting the new year with another pile of barrel-scraping bootlegs. Are these a good chance for newer Elvis fans to get hold of old bootlegs - or just bootleggers getting desperate to earn some money?
The Concert Recordings LAS VEGAS 1971: Elvis One presents The Concert Recordings! A collection of 4 cds with soundboard live recordings recorded at the International Hotel in Las Vegas from January and February 1971 plus a few bonus tracks.
Included are all known recordings from January 26 (opening night), 27 (midnight show), 28 (midnight show), 29 (dinner show) and February 23 (closing show).
These season's shows were quite short (due to hotel management) but Elvis is in an enjoyable mood. There are many highlights including great live recordings from 'Sweet Caroline', 'Make The World Go Away', 'Only Believe', 'Can't Help Falling In Love' (dedicated to Hal Wallis), 'The Impossible Dream', 'How Great Thou Art', 'Something', and many others PLUS also some false starts, one-liners and lyric changes.
'Also Sprach Zarathustra' is played for the very first time during this engagement and the first rendition of this magic opening theme is also presented on this set (opening night, January 26.) Bonus tracks are recordings from the January 28 dinner show, the complete Elvis’s Acceptance Speech of the Jaycees Award from January 16, 1971, and a telephone conversation from April 1971.
All recordings remastered for optimum sound quality.
Each cd contains a 16-pages booklet with photos and recording information. And of course these are all limited editions of only 500 copies. (EIN is not surprised!)
EIN notes that previous releases were...

The classic bootleg 'All Things Are Possible' -Jan 27 Midnight Show
'Snowbird' - Jan 29 Dinner show

Music from the MGM motion picture DOUBLE TROUBLE': Now available on the newly found POPCORN label is this amazing double album completely dedicated to the Double Trouble sessions.
These sessions, which took place in June 1966 only resulted in 9 masters. 3 bonus tracks were added to fill up the long play album.
Still the total playing time of the original soundtrack album was very short. Now you can enjoy these sessions on this deluxe double album.
All the tracks are also available on the 2 bonus cds added to this package.
Although not the best sessions Elvis was involved in, still this set makes a great listen.
EIN Note: Absolutely true "not the best sessions Elvis was involved in" - Very doubtful "it makes a great listen".

"The Boston Garden, November 10, 1971": Gravelroad Music label has announced a DELUXE 168 page book, including a 24k gold CD, DVD & BLU-RAY in HD to ensure the very best possible quality in any way.
The audio is a brand new transfer from soundboard tape & the footage on Blu-ray is High Definition (HD). Out in January, 2022.
Book includes: 168 pages and over 150+ rare or unknown photos of the Boston concert, from private collections, mainly in color and unedited news reviews (good & bad ones), personal stories & little known facts.
For the first time, a brand new transfer from the concert which unveils much more detail, previously unnoticed! The sheer richness and fullness is amazing. The idea of a mono recording is gone! The best thing is, this is the real deal!
Publicity states, “Do gold CDs sound better? Are they really that much better than regular CDs?” Short answer : “You bet!” - The fact is that the gold disc's aural improvements are audible under any circumstances. Yes they can be played in any CD/DVD/Blu-ray player.
To us, this concert doesn’t need any enhancements to overwhelm the listener, it is the first row with ELVIS & 15,000 fans at the Boston Garden! It sounds all new.

There was additional work but it all started with the transfer and we loved it! It’s a thrill to hear it like this.
Plus footage of Boston & the November tour also in HD on Blu-ray. Almost 2 hours and yes, it includes little bit of new footage too. The very first release in High definition!
We’ve chosen to use dual-layer DVD to have the best possible quality on a DVD. As a bonus we added a compilation of Boston & Tuscaloosa to have a more enjoyable viewing expirience of the Boston concert. Although priority has been given to the historical content. So you’re good to go either way!

EIN Note: Regarding quality discussed above.
A. Gold and silver CDs both generally reproduce ones and zeros with total accuracy. For audio quality it is the mastering and source quality that matters.

B. Stating that the video quality is “HIGH DEFINITION” truly depends on the quality of what was filmed in the first place - which was fan-footage.
Set includes..
1 Book 168 pages and over 150+ mainly rare or unknown color photos of the Boston concert
1 24k Gold CD with high-end audio
1 DUAL-LAYER DVD with 2 hours footage of Boston concert & November tour.
1 BLU-RAY same content but in HIGH DEFINITION (HD)
All region free & no copy protection for personal use!
Tracklist: Also Sprach Zarathustra - That's All Right - I Got A Woman / Amen - Proud Mary - You Don't Have To Say You Love Me - You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' - Polk Salad Annie - Coming Home, baby’ - Love Me - Heartbreak Hotel - Blue Suede Shoes - One Night - Hound Dog - How Great Thou Art - Band Introduction - I'm Leavin' - Bridge Over Troubled Water + reprise - I Can't Stop Loving You - Love Me Tender - Suspicious Minds - Instrumental Intermezzo - Funny How Time Slips Away - Can't Help Falling In Love - Closing Vamp

'Elvis Hawaii 1973' Double 10" Vinyl: From the UK "Elvis - Hawaii 1973" the re-release of Aloha as a 10-Inch Double Album on Sky Blue Vinyl. Presumably released through EU 'Public Domain' as being originally a "TV broadcast", the cover design is a shocker. The publicity sadly describes the artist as sometimes "bloated and intoxicated" and states...
.. Elvis Presley died 16th August, 1977 at the age of 42. In his last years, bloated and intoxicated, his shows were lacklustre, a sad reminder of his previously outstanding talent. By contrast however, the show on this record is a moment of brilliance. This is the soundtrack of the satellite broadcast of his concert special from Hawaii on 14th January 1973. This was arguably his final moment of genius.
Featuring many classics from Presley’s catalogue, the 22 songs he performed included Blue Suede Shoes, Hound Dog and An American Trilogy. The broadcast was seen by approximately 1.3 billion people in 36
countries and remains a fan favourite that clearly demonstrates the abilities of the man they call ‘The King’ – Elvis Presley. - Costs US$52 & Postage

'February 1970, Las Vegas International Hotel' 7cd Bootleg: EIN has been saying all year that the Bootleg Vaults are basically empty - bar the occaisional miracle (like Kansas City 1974).
Well let's end the year with yet another useless announcement from a no-name label
'February 1970, Las Vegas International Hotel'- coming out next month is a limited 7 CD set (300 copies) that features shows from February 1970 over seven CDs. Limited Edition - what a surprise!
CD 1 - January 26, 1970 Opening Show In Glorious Mono
CD 2 - February 15, 1970 Midnight Show
CD 3 - February 16, 17,18 Shows
CD 4 - February 18, 19 Shows
CD 5 - February 19, 1970 Midnight Show
CD 6 - The Felton Jarvis Rough Mix Album
CD 7 - February 23, 1970 Closing Show
EIN would immediately point out that it is a direct copy of 'Walk A Mile In My Shoes' Elvis On Stage January / February 1970' a 7cd set that came out in September 2018.
(EIN commented at the time "The set features nothing new gathering all its material from official releases as well as previous bootlegs such as 'Elvis Rebooked'. The bootleggers are struggling to make a buck. Checking the tracklist they have taken the recent FTD 'OFF STAGE' release and re-sequenced it to the two correct concerts. Other material is such as FTD's 'Polk Salad Annie' Feb 15th show. It all combines to makes 7CDs, albeit the two 16th & 17th shows being only the 6 / 7 songs released by FTD so are super short. )
And now it gets another flogging - you can find it at dealers for around US$77 so that's pretty cheap - but who knows the quality?
Happy Elvis Bootleg New Year everybody! -- May 2022 brings us some nice surprises.

"Elvis: Back in Nashville" Out Now!: The official announcement from SONY that the long-awaited box-set is officially released.
The SONY publicity notes... This comprehensive collection chronicles Elvis’ fabled 1971 marathon recording session that would be his final session in Nashville.
These pristine recordings reveal some of the most compelling singing of his career and include “I’m Leavin’,” “My Way,” and “If Fools Rush In (Where Angels Fear To Tread).”
EIN NOTE: Sadly the song is called "Fools Rush In" and not  “If Fools Rush In"!
"Elvis: Back in Nashville" is an essential addition to any collection.
Like its predecessor 'Elvis: Back In Nashville' is designed to showcase Elvis and his core band as they sounded during the actual sessions without orchestral overdubs and vocal accompaniment. A key difference between Elvis’ 1970 and 1971 Nashville sessions is that many of the 1971 recordings included backing singers; therefore, 'Elvis: Back In Nashville' offers a variety of song performances both with and without vocal augmentation.
This amazing collection is available on vinyl 2 LP 12” edition and 4-CD Box Set!

MRS presents 'ELVIS: September 1970' in-depth Review: MRS's new 2CD deluxe set features a new previously unreleased soundboard from 2nd September 1970 and a bonus CD that covers the final rehearsals at the International Hotel on August 10th before the start of the summer festival.
In September 1970 Elvis was still excited to be back on stage and performing for his fans. Newspaper reviews of his concerts wrote about the excitement and fun Elvis was having back on-stage.
This brand-new previously unknown concert captures Elvis feeling 'loose-as-a-goose' yet still performing with a real intensity. His live versions of ‘You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’, 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' were truly exceptional this evening.
The accompanying 40-page booklet of the CD deluxe includes rare photographs and memorabilia taken during these engagements along with introductory notes.

EIN's Nigel Patterson and Piers Beagley check out this new collection and enjoy a hilarious ride-with-the-king.
