In Project Hail Mary, the book, Ryland Grace finds himself in a dire situation as the only survivor of a critical mission that holds the fate of humanity and Earth in balance. However, he is currently unaware of this fact. Awakening after a prolonged comatose state, he struggles to even recall his own identity, let alone the purpose of his mission or how to carry it out.
With his crewmates deceased and his memories slowly returning, he faces an overwhelming challenge. Adrift in space aboard a spacecraft assembled by various global entities, he must confront a threat that could lead to the extinction of mankind.
Fortunately, an unexpected ally emerges, offering a glimmer of hope in this gripping narrative of exploration, speculation, and resilience that pushes the boundaries of imagination.

After retiring from his iconic Ken persona, Ryan Gosling will lead in his next film Project Hail Mary by playing the role of Ryland Grace. Incidentally, this is not Gosling’s first time in a space movie or even playing an astronaut’s role — the Barbie actor had already starred in First Man (2018), which portrayed Neil Armstrong.
