I felt like a lot of the humor was above kids heads, primarily directed to the adults. My toddler didn’t like it, becuase Bridget gets mad at Poppy for singing and dancing. (She recently saw Coco and I guess was super scared of a grandma in it who didn’t like singing and dancing. So it could have been because of that)
The relationships between Bridget and Poppy and Branch and Gristle were funny, they seemed realistic as to what you’d find in teenagers on an awkward double date, or newlyweds who are friends. It was cute.
I think it did a good job at showing Bridget let her feelings out. But it did it kind of abruptly. My kids weren’t thrilled with it. I was okay with it. But it was a bit sad.
It spent most of the movie trying to share what holidays the Trolls celebrated. So it was funny. But I would have liked to see maybe half of that, then pair it with more of what they did to actually celebrate a holiday.
I think it would have been great if they reclaimed Trollstice, but instead of eating trolls they celebrated them. So similar, just calling it the same.
I had expected to see them celebrating and happy since it was a holiday movie. Instead, I felt like it was quite a bit more negative. Didn’t give me happy emotions like the first one. Branch seemed kind of annoying in his singing 3/4 through, it didn’t really seem like his personality.
