Cecil Taylor – Double Holy House

Cecil Taylor fan you say. Ok he has challenging music, when his poetry is a focus or a driver of the music it makes it more challenging. I was initially impartial to his poetry and not really annoyed but not engaged. I've owned this CD for a decade and didn't go to it much but a couple of listening over the last month has made me think more. His poetry accompanied by his piano and it works. The solo playing is forceful as ever but graceful. Not in his top ten records but very strong.
