Clement, Stephen Arthur 12/4/1956 - 8/13/2022 Grand Rapids Stephen "Steve" Arthur Clement, age 65 of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on August 13, 2022, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on December 4, 1956 to Arthur and Dorothy (Stoeger) Clement in Detroit, MI. Steve met the love of his life in 1979. Steve and Diane were married in 1980 and spent the next 42 years growing their family and their love for each other. Steve spent over 30 years working for Arvco Container Corporation. He was incredibly dedicated to his customers and was proud of the work he did. Many of the work relationships he built through Arvco Container transitioned into lifelong friendships. Steve was a passionate golfer. He would golf "wherever, whenever" and could always find a partner whether it was family or friends. He also enjoyed fishing, playing a competitive game of chess or cribbage, and cheering on the Detroit Lions. Steve and Diane spent many weekends at Hamlin Lake in Ludington, MI, enjoying boat rides and nights by the campfire. A passionate cook, he loved being in the kitchen and feeding his family one of his perfected recipes. A family-oriented man, it's no surprise Steve had said that his grandchildren were the pinnacle of his life. He enjoyed attending all of their sporting events but he relished introducing golf to his three granddaughters, passing on his love for the sport. Steve will be remembered for being a strong-willed, fearless, and loving husband, father, grandpa/papa, golf partner, and friend with an infectious laugh and a big smile. Surviving is Steve's wife, Diane (Connor) Clement; children Nicholas (Courtney) Clement and Elizabeth (Adam) Trompen; grandchildren Maddox, Quinn, Addisyn, Georgia, and Ethan; sisters Denise Clement, Ann (Fred) Jewell, and Susan Lathrop; brother John (Amy) Clement; many nieces and nephews as well as many close friends and customers. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Dorothy Clement; sister Jeannie Clement. Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 18 from 4:00 7:00 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1200 Alpine Church Road NW Comstock Park, with an hour prior for visiting. Immediately following the service, there will be a Celebration of Life held at Scott Lake Golf Course, 911 Hayes Road NE, Comstock Park. Memorial donations may be made in Steve's name to Faith Hospice.

I worked at Scott Lake CC for many years, back in the 80´s. I remember Art and Steve very well. Steve was always smiling and friendly! Later, my husband, Joe, sometimes played golf with him at Scott Lake. Cancer knows no age. His passing was way too soon. Our condolences to Dianne and family!
