The 1950's societal optimism espoused by their CEO, Frank--equal parts corporate visionary and motivational life coach--anchors every aspect of daily life in the tight-knit desert utopia. While the husbands spend every day inside the Victory Project Headquarters, working on the "development of progressive materials," their wives--including Frank's elegant partner, Shelley--get to spend their time enjoying the beauty, luxury and debauchery of their community. Life is perfect, with every resident's needs met by the company. All they ask in return is discretion and unquestioning commitment to the Victory cause. But when cracks in her idyllic life begin to appear, exposing flashes of something much more sinister lurking beneath the attractive façade, Alice can't help questioning exactly what they're doing in Victory, and why. Just how much is Alice willing to lose to expose what's really going on in this paradise? Read More Read Less Watch on Fandango at Home Premiered May 14 Buy Now

      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Despite an intriguing array of talent on either side of the camera, Don't Worry Darling is a mostly muddled rehash of overly familiar themes.

The ending isn't for everyone, but the cast -- especially Florence Pugh -- helps Don't Worry Darling make the most of a story with fairly few surprises.

Catherine T Excellent twist at the end! Great movie! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/11/22 Full Review Sierra Unexpected ending and such a good cast Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/05/22 Full Review Anthony Truly an amazing movie the ending has me on the edge of my seat Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/02/22 Full Review Thought it was good (by Stew) Thought it was good, but then it fell apart. It may be leading to some sequel or something. Maybe when it comes out on Blu-Ray it will have an alternate ending, to give us a sense of closure. Had some great actors and they did shine, but the movies writing shadowed just what could have been something the actors could have bragged about. I get it that the director wrote her part, that she was on board with the farse and that it was developed around her the ability to have her children. That mimics the whole Marvel WandaVision theme. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/30/22 Full Review Andrea kinda slow movie but I really enjoyed the plot. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/26/22 Full Review Kevin An intense, entertaining sci-fi/thriller with outstanding cinematography and top-notch performances from Florence Pugh and Harry Styles. The ending may have you scratching your head, but that all depends on what you take from this film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/26/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mark Kermode Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) It is less than the sum of Florence Pugh's performance. Dec 21, 2023 Full Review Candice Frederick Huffington Post Hollow and disappointing. Dec 6, 2022 Full Review David Stratton The Australian After this promising start the film seems not to know quite where to go next. The ending is certainly a let-down, and perhaps the screenplay should have had another rewrite. Oct 18, 2022 Full Review Joe Lipsett Anatomy of a Scream Podcast Network Despite great chemistry between Pine and Pugh and amazing production & costume design, the obvious and nonsensical plot and Harry Styles' unconvincing performance ultimately sinks the film. Also: Why is this 2 hours long?! Rated: 2/5 Nov 23, 2023 Full Review Nadine Whitney Mr. Movie's Film Blog There is a great film in the bones of the one we are presented with, one that is neater and more compact and doesn’t struggle with the internal logic it presents. Sep 17, 2023 Full Review Hector A. Gonzalez The Movie Buff An array of half-baked ideas that add up to nothing much more than a world of mirages. Rated: D Jul 29, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
