  • New art showcases Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen in the upcoming live-action film, giving a glimpse of their updated looks.
  • The poster-like drawing depicts the characters wearing costumes reminiscent of the classic animated film but with the actresses' facial features, hinting at a more humanized approach.
  • The live-action film makes notable changes from its animated predecessor, including focusing on the princess instead of the seven dwarf characters and reimagining the dwarfs as magical figures.

Snow White art imagines what stars Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot will look like in the movie. Zegler and Gadot play Snow White and the Evil Queen, respectively, in the upcoming Disney live-action film Snow White. Snow White is directed by Marc Webb and is set for release on March 22, 2024.

New art by @GueliArt renders a new take on Zegler and Gadot’s Snow White looks.

The artist creates a poster-like digital drawing of Snow White and the Evil Queen side-by-side. The two figures wear costumes reminiscent of the classic animated film but have Gadot and Zegler’s facial features. Gadot’s Evil Queen wields an apple in one hand and a staff in the other, and dons a bejeweled crown atop her head. Snow White, on the other hand, has a fearful expression to contrast the Evil Queen’s sly look. She clutches a heart-shaped pendant around her neck as she worriedly looks off into the distance. The two are framed by an elaborate mirror, a reference to the classic “mirror mirror on the wall.”

How Live-Action Snow White Will Be Different From The Animated Film

Seeing figures drawn to represent Gadot and Zegler is another reminder that Snow White will take on a very different look than its animated predecessor, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was an animated feature released in 1937, which featured hand-drawn animation that made Snow White and the Evil Queen look so pale that they were almost washed out. Shown in live-action, Snow White’s main characters will not have this same eerie “white as snow” look, and the art gives a glimpse into the humanized approach already.

One of the most notable changes the live-action film makes from its source material is in the title. Snow White lops off the tail end of the animated film’s moniker, centering the princess instead of the seven “dwarf” characters from the original. This shift reflects not just in the title, for Snow White’s seven dwarf characters are instead depicted as seven magical figures in this updated version, who are predominantly of normal stature.

It will be interesting to see what other liberties Snow White takes with its source material. As in the art, Snow White will probably feature the classic princess costume, at least at some point during the film. Other than that, Snow White has a lot of freedom to reinvent the style from the over eight-decade-old original.
