      Critics Consensus

Dumb, dated, desperate, and downright disappointing, Desperados squanders Nasim Pedrad's talents on gross-out gags that all too rarely land.

Matt 1 I liked this movie, it's so funny and this movie is good. ( I Just don't like the main character like wtf is wrong with you, you just met that guy and you're so selfish. You literally have a perfect two bestfriends). Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/11/24 Full Review Steve D I liked the cast but it wasn't enough. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review corkball Rom coms are supposed to be dumb, but this is just ridiculous. The female lead is just awful, and why anyone would want to be with her is beyond me. The make lead was ok as in his personality wasn't repellent... but the fact that he wanted to be with her made him a worse human being. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Thomas H This was another one of those silly movies with egocentric and annoying American women getting into "funny situations". Lousy script, lousy plot, annoying and poorly acted characters. The locations are pretty nice, though, and that "Sean" character was pretty cool. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member There are some smiles in this comedy about a woman trying to find love but too many flaws to get past. This is trying too hard to be Bridesmaids and and The Hangover, but never coming close. The cast is actually pretty good but the laughs are cheap and predictable and that is the biggest issue. This one is not original or that funny. Summary: Doesn't Hit The Mark Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The first movie that made me laugh out loud in a long time.. yes themes were problematic, but I enjoyed the cast and it cheered me up on a grey day. Peter Debruge Variety Do yourself a favor and spend five minutes - and as many dollars - researching something else to watch instead. Jul 24, 2020 Full Review Janaya Greene Chicago Reader Any funny film should also be relatable and have true stakes-this Netflix release failed to do either... Jul 14, 2020 Full Review Amy Nicholson FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) This movie made me embarrassed to be a woman. Jul 9, 2020 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Desperados wants to pretend that it's feminist and edgy, when it's really not ... At its core, the film's message about how women should act and how women should be rewarded when looking for love is as old-fashioned as a Doris Day movie. Jul 28, 2020 Full Review Rachel Wagner rachelsreviews.net This movie even made me hate dolphins Rated: 1/10 Jul 24, 2020 Full Review Daniel Hart Ready Steady Cut We've seen it all before. But now and again, we require these films that allow us to sit back, relax and allow our brain to mellow. Rated: 3/5 Jul 21, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
