- RickD49West Grove, PA51 contributionsWhat an amazing way to spend an afternoon! Beautiful mansion with plenty of knowledgeable docents. Make sure to take the shuttle bus tour of the gardens - driver is a wealth of information.Written April 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bjminparis17 contributionsWonderful informative visit. Buses ran often and staff were very organized about getting us on the bus and scheduling a house tour. Great guides and information, beautiful setting and house tour. Would highly recommend. We were there about 2 1/2 hours and felt like we saw everything very thoroughly.Written April 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Finrep001New York City, NY98 contributionsWhat a beautiful museum nestled in a residential area; I came for their substantial Pre-Raphaelite art, having become a fan when I lived in England. I also found various other art, previously unknown to me, that I thought was great.
The 1938 building has since blended with modern additions in an excellent way.
The café was a surprise with a great menu that tasted as good as it looked. The sculpture garden made for a pleasant walk after touring the museum. The museum staff were friendly and helpful.Written March 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I guess(based on the experie ce of my 2yo at the time) that it is a good place for kids 3 and over. Lots of different activities.Written August 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Nancy A243 contributionsI did a self guided tour of the mansion during the holiday season. The mansion itself is beautiful and the holiday decorations only made it better. Well worth your time.Written December 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SMGlebWilmington, DE469 contributionsI’m more a lover of the impressionists but I thoroughly enjoyed viewing the contemporary art on display. Highly recommend. My favorite was the gallery featuring “Loam” but the artist combining 50s era women with household items was fabulous. Take time to enjoy the gallery of local area student artwork - it will blow your mind the talent of these kids! Well worth your time. And you can go to one of the many excellent restaurants nearby and take a lovely walk along the riverfront too.Written July 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mcdh4561Fredericksburg, VA574 contributionsThe museum was closed, but we managed to walk right down to the pier and the sailing ship, which was undergoing repair and maintenance by the volunteer crew. The ship itself is a gilded beauty, typical of 1600's vessels. Worth the time to take a few pictures.Written April 15, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Han K8 contributionsI think it is well worth the $10 admission. The exhibits are very informative and thoughtfully displayed. - Bill BBel Air, MD8,214 contributionsHendrickson House is a simple but beautiful 17th-century stone house that provides a gateway into the Old Swedes Historic Site in a quiet section of Wilmington just a short distance from Port Christina where the Swedish settlers landed. The building has a beautiful and well maintained cobblestone front parking area and open-air amphitheater. At the back is the cemetery of the old Swedish church. The institution is managed by volunteers, so one does not always find it open.Written July 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MelanieWilmington, DE3 contributionsThis is a really neat museum! They opened their doors in this location in 2019. The museum is currently open Monday/Wednesday 10am-12pm, and the second Saturday of every month for a guest speaker. We did not pay attention to what days they were open and accidentally went on a day they were closed. When we went back it was really cool with neat displays. We spent 1-2 hours to visit the museum and 2-3 hours when we attend the museum lectures.Written February 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
