Mark (a journalist from Xice Magazine) is sent to do a premier article on Steve and John (co-creators of XBus & owners of Bang-on Entertainment). They decide to take Mark on a ride that, unbeknownst to them, turns into a vicious nightmare. Caught in a revenge plot that's been brewing for years, Mark tries to escape with his life as our mysterious Beth reigns down punishment for Steve and John's past dirty deeds. What is a "just" consequence for a couple of scum-bag's?... And how far will one go to get even?

Low-budget revenge thriller featuring thinly veiled versions of the Bang Bus and Vice Magazine. Not for everyone, but it gets a pass from me. Every time it starts to feel toothless it turns around and reveals a surprising level of nastiness.

A surprise - I was expecting something cheap & campy, but instead I got something dark and brutal - very brutal! This is a rape-revenge movie full of surprises and unrelenting nastiness. I don't really seek out stuff like this in general, the mean vibes always bring me down, but I admit I was enjoying the sheer audacity of Deeper after a while -and it kept up the pace right til the end.
Aside from the silly heavy-handed philosophical dialogue that sneaks in during the occasional slow moment (we can think about the implications of all this without needing the characters to channel it for us!), it's an entertaining slice of modern exploitation.

this is absolutely idiotic & wrong-headed & is yet another movie where three men are terrorized by a skinny woman, but it is undeniably very energetic & bloody.

while this movie is arguably quite offensive to women, it also planted seeds in my head that, six years later, have grown into fully fledged feminist ideals. i am probably only the person this has ever happened to, because if you hadn't guessed by the title, 'deeper: the retribution of beth' is not very good.
love elise gatien though, another total star that was tragically imprisoned in the hallmark pit of doom!!!

Overall, this is well put together. It's well-crafted to work within its limited resources, requiring little more than two locations - the car and the woods - and the four occupants of the limo. There's a particularly interesting dynamic on the female side, contrasting the aggressive Beth, and the apparently much more passive Sam. Although, that does change over the course of the film and the view at the far end is radically different from that at the beginning. It benefits from some good performances too. Francis, for example, manages to make Steve a relatively sympathetic character, rather than being 100% douchebag. But it's Harmon who is the glue that holds this film together.

A well shot, well performed pointless film.
Basically a rape revenge film, where we are supposed to see how both sides are wrong? Don't know why there had to be so much collateral damage when really the only goal was to punish a rapist. Sure it added complexities, but they did nothing at all with them.
So much talent in this for such a baffling end product.
