Deville Vannik is a South African stuntman and actor who portrayed Lieutenant Hersey and stuntman on Black Sails.
Personal Life[]
DeVille Vannik was born in South Africa and attended the performing arts lifestyle institute in his hometown of Pretoria. He started his career in front of the camera with an international commercial for coca cola in 2009. The following year he moved to the United States where he attended the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts and focused on acting for film[1].
Career[]
Vannik has been part of the stunt team for numerous films. He was a stuntman and motion capture performer in Chappie. He was the stunt double for Evan Peters in Pirates of Somalia, Barry Pepper in The Maze Runner, and the parkour choreographer for Tomb Raider. He has also worked in television, doublng for Louis Hunter in Troy: Fall of a City, David Walmsley in Of Prophets and Kings, and Jonathan Shore in Warrior. In Season Three of Black Sails, Vannik had an uncredited appearance as Lieutenant Hersey, in addition to being the stunt double for Luke Roberts in Seasons Three and Four[2].
