King Charles

With the death of Queen Elizabeth II in Sept. 2022, her eldest child, now King Charles III, immediately acceded to the throne. His coronation took place on May 6, 2023.

His wife, Queen Camilla, would not be next in the line of succession; instead, she will be given the title of Queen Dowager when Prince William accedes.

Prince William

Prince William, who became the Prince of Wales when Queen Elizabeth died, is the elder son of King Charles and the late Princess Diana, making him first in line to the throne.

Prince George

Prince George is Queen Elizabeth's great-grandson, King Charles' grandson and Prince William's eldest child with his wife Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales. He's currently second in line to the throne.

Princess Charlotte

Princess Charlotte is Queen Elizabeth's great-granddaughter, King Charles' granddaughter and Prince William's second child. For the first time in history, a female royal's spot in line to the throne was not bumped by the arrival of a younger brother. Thanks to the Succession to the Crown Act 2013, birth order determines who will become the next king or queen of the U.K., regardless of gender, making her third in line.

Prince Louis

Prince Louis is Queen Elizabeth's great-grandson, King Charles' grandson and Prince William's third child. He is fourth in line to the throne behind his older siblings.

Prince Harry

Prince Harry is Queen Elizabeth's grandson and the younger son of King Charles and the late Princess Diana. He's now fifth in line to the throne.

Prince Archie

Prince Archie is Queen Elizabeth's great-grandson, King Charles' grandson and Prince Harry's first child with his wife, Meghan Markle. Born Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6, 2019, he is sixth in line to the throne, and his official title was confirmed in March 2023 at the time of his sister's christening after his grandfather became monarch.

Princess Lilibet

Prince Harry and Meghan welcomed their daughter Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, named after her great-grandmother and grandmother, in June 2021. She is seventh in line to the throne.

Prince Andrew

Prince Andrew is Queen Elizabeth's second eldest son, who stepped back from royal duty due to his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The births of Prince Harry's children recently moved him to eighth in line to the throne.

Princess Beatrice

Princess Beatrice is Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter and Prince Andrew's eldest daughter with ex-wife Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson. She's currently ninth in line to the throne.

Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi

Princess Beatrice welcomed her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in September 2021. Sienna is currently tenth in line to the throne.

Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie is Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter and Prince Andrew's younger daughter with ex-wife Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson. She's currently 11th in line to the throne.

August Philip Hawke Brooksbank

August is the first child of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. Born in February 2021, he was moved down in the line of succession just months later after the birth of his cousin (Princess Beatrice's daughter). He is now 12th in line.

Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank

Ernest is Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's second son, born in May 2023. He was the first of Queen Elizabeth's great-grandchildren to be born following her death. He is currently in the 13th spot in the line of succession.

Prince Edward

Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, is Queen Elizabeth's youngest child. He is now 14th in line to the throne.

James, Earl of Wessex

James is Queen Elizabeth's grandson and Prince Edward's son. He's 15th in line to the throne.

Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor

Lady Louise is Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter and Prince Edward's daughter. She's currently 16th in line to the throne.

Princess Anne

Peter is Queen Elizabeth's grandson and the son of Princess Anne. He's 18th in the line of succession.

Savannah Phillips

Savannah is Queen Elizabeth's great-granddaughter, Princess Anne's granddaughter and Peter Phillips' elder daughter. She's currently 19th in line to the throne.

Isla Phillips

The daughter of Lady Davina Lewis and Gary Lewis. She's currently 36th in line to the throne, behind her mother.

Tane Lewis

Until March 2015, Tāne was ahead of Senna in the line of succession. Lady Amelia Windsor

The youngest child of George Windsor, Earl of St. Andrews and Sylvana Tomaselli. Because her father converted to Roman Catholicism to marry her mother, he lost his succession rights. However, when the 2013 Succession to the Crown Act was passed, it granted him succession rights once again. Lady Amelia's two older siblings were confirmed in the Catholic faith and therefore gave up their succession rights. As such, she is the only heir of her father to maintain a position in the line of succession.

The second son of Lord Nicholas Windsor and Princess Paola Doimi de Lupis Frankopan Šubić Zrinski. He is 45th in line to the British throne.
