Daniel Craig led the James Bond franchise through its most commercially successful period and is viewed by some as the best incarnation of the character.

When Pierce Brosnan retired as 007 following Die Another Day, Bond producers worked fast to find his replacement. Several names were in the frame, but Craig was eventually selected and it proved to be a controversial choice.

Bond previously had been tall with brown hair, whereas Craig had blonde hair, blue eyes and was stocky and more muscular than his predecessors.

Some fans were outraged, but Craig proved everyone wrong.

His third outing as Bond, Skyfall, is the highest-grossing movie in the history of the franchise, grossing $1.1 billion in ticket sales.

Within our MovieMeter community, there are naturally various James Bond movies that have received hugely positive responses. By subscribing to become a member of the MovieMeter community HERE, you can rate all of your favourite movies - and some of your least favourite ones.

According to our community, the best Bond movie with Craig playing the character is Casino Royale. Following the poor reception of Die Another Day, the franchise was rebooted with a grittier, grounded focus on a younger version of Bond, as well as an injection of emotional stakes.

The most successful Bond movie ever, Skyfall, is Craig's second best. That also received critical acclaim.

No Time to Die is third, and that movie is noted for being the first time in history that the character has actually died on screen.

Spectre is fourth, while Quantum of Solace is fifth.
