Synopsis
A woman with extra-sensory perception has a vision of a murder.
1960 Directed by Terry Bishop
A woman with extra-sensory perception has a vision of a murder.
Yesterday I saw myself not winning the lottery and giving this movie a 5 star rating. The fact that I am now extremely rich considerably softens the disappointment that I turn out not to be a visionary.
Terry Bishop directs this crime drama in which a doctor and his wife move to an old house in a village, but his wife begins to experience strange visions. Starring Zena Walker, Robert Urquhart and Rupert Davies.
Zena Walker gives an OK performance in her part as Ginny Murray, the woman who has second visions and believes that something awful has happened.
Elsewhere, there are OK performances to be had from Robert Urquhart and Rupert Davies in their respective parts as Bob Murray and Robert Campbell. Bob is Ginny’s husband, while Robert is the doctor involved.
The direction from Bishop is OK but it should have been better, such as showing more facial expressions to a stronger effect, while also…
A solid British B-picture which just about manages to keep its story of extra-sensory perception anchored in a realistic setting. Zena Walker is the doctor's wife who has bad vibes from their new home, and 'sees' what she believes might be her own murder being committed. Robert Urquhart is her non-plussed husband. Brisk and busy, and worth a watch.
Danger tomorrow boredom today. Appallingly dated film, as perennially patronised housewife Zena Walker comes to terms with her vague future gazing abilities. "I may not know any technical stuff but I can make a good Victoria sponge." Of course you can dear. Zena was married to her on screen husband Robert Urquhart in real life, no wonder they got divorced.
If you imagine it as a parody it's actually quite funny, imagine Harry Enfield's 'women, know your limits' sketches. The random musical cues also offer a great cause for merriment, an extended parp noise to signify imminent tension.
Now pull yourself together you neurotic harridan.
Not that exciting 1 hour movie about a woman that can predict the future. The thing that is annoying is that they keep pushing that subject of her ability and its the talk of the movie almost all the way through.
