About the Artist

 

Cynthia Hamilton has a BS in Education from Eastern Illinois University, two BFAs and an MFA from the Academy of Art University (Illustration, Fashion Illustration, and Painting.) She was a computer graphics animator and art director for Electronic Arts and Crystal Dynamics, working on PC and video games in the early days of game development.


Her love of travel has allowed her to capture the landscape as well as the people she encounters on her journeys. These works have been exhibited in various competitions throughout the United States and are held privately in many homes across the country. She has been juried into "the Best and Brightest" competition in Scottsdale Arizona, the Greenhouse Gallery's Salon International, the prestigious Oil Painter's of America Western Regional, as well as American Women Artist's exhibitions,  Santa Barbara Museums' Artists of Distinction, and has won awards competing in the Pastel Society of the West Coast exhibits, as well as various gallery and online competitions. Shown in numerous galleries across the country, she is a member of Oil Painters of America, California Art Club, the Portrait Society of America, American Women Artists, and the American Impressionist Society.
