      Audience Member Lighter-than-light spy caper which marked Moore's first branching out into film from the success of The Saint. It has much the same tone as an episode from that series, and was made by many of the same principals behind the camera. It's OK as a time-passer, and the London locations in the 60s are always fun to see, but its air of inconsequentiality means that it's no North by Northwest or even Stage Fright. Moore plays just a regular guy caught in an incredible situation and he does a really good job. He's likable, charming, and funny. The rest of the movie, though, isn't that good. There's decent action at times but the plot doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Before he became Bond, Roger Moore was essentially Roger Moore in whatever role he took (aside from 'The Man Who Haunted Himself' - check it out, it's a rather good little horror thriller). That's fine, if you like Roger Moore. Here he plays a sort of cross between James Bond and Austin Powers, in a film made during the 'swinging '60s'. It's not a bad little movie, though it does feel like an overlong version of an episode from 'The Persuaders' and, as such, is missing Tony Curtis for Roger Moore to bounce bon mots off. Moore is likeable and loveable, his love interest (who the plot revolves around) struggles with English - she's from Hungary and they do play on this struggle with words within the script, though one wonders whether that was added in after she was cast - and the rest of the supporting cast perform their roles with relish. Moore's character is even employed by 'M' (character actor Bernard Lee, who played the part opposite both Connery and Moore in the 007 movies). The plot is wrapped up in free love, peace and demonstrations, as well as throwing in glamour and cliches galore. It's not a bad movie, and in some ways is better than a lot of the 007 movies that Moore starred in, and it's the sort of thing you'd probably enjoy if you caught it on BBC 2 on a weekday afternoon. An action/adventure/thriller/mystery with the emphasis on the tongue being planted firmly in its cheek. Strong plot, direction and outstanding music with the title track ILL FIND OUR LOVE1969 sung by multi talented New Zealand Balladeer JOHN ROWLES.
