I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Visa Inc. (Mentor, OH)

Interview

I recently underwent a multi-stage interview process, which encompassed three distinct rounds: a session with the hiring manager, a technical assessment focusing on data structures and algorithms, and a detailed technical discussion. Throughout the process, I found the interviewers to be both amicable and supportive, which greatly enhanced the overall experience. The difficulty level was within my comfort zone, allowing me to effectively showcase my skills and knowledge. Overall, it was a highly constructive and positive experience.

I applied online. I interviewed at Visa Inc. in Apr 2024

Interview

The interview lasted for 1 month starting with an online test and then with 2 rounds of technical and 1 behavioral. All the interviews were scheduled based on my preference and availability. The technical round was easy with basic questions about Java and my experience However, in the last round, I kinda felt the interviewer already had someone in mind and was just doing the interview for the sake of doing it. I guess it's fine.

Interview

After 1 level of coding interview with 4 questions. There were 2 system design interviews. Post all discussions, even after continuous follow up there was no response from HR. HR Recruiters are terrible and this is the second time I have experienced this with Visa.

- The questions were tougher than expected on the OA, so I didn't get through to the end. Wish they were a bit more flexible in the hiring process. Started with online application and from there got sent the test.

I've been on the job hunt with varying intensity levels for roughly 4 years now and wouldn't even need both hands to count the number of interviews I've gotten invited to. Is the job market truly that bad and others can relate or is this uncommon? If the latter, does anyone have advice on getting past the first cull of applicants and landing initial interviews?
