Mac :( from the little research I’ve done there doesn’t seem to be much in the way of eq options.. there is a stock Apple Music eq which I’ve used a bit but it isn’t all that flexible

Ahhhh yeah I feel you on the cable, I always prefer one that is detachable. I’m definitely not confident enough to mod these myself and don’t feel like paying someone else to do it but the mods do look dope. At least it’s not a Grado cable 👀

There’s an opinion I’ve never heard before… I think they sounds pretty nice personality

I was debating between the 80 and 250 ohm models. I don’t have much technical knowledge into the difference but it seemed like the 80s were more versatile. For the most part, these are just sitting on my desk waiting for me to make some music but I don’t want to rule out plugging them into a mobile device. But yeah definitely curious on the sound difference between the two

I expanded in a previous reply but they just kinda feel cheap compared to other headphones I have. I’ve had them for like 3 days so I can’t really speak to the ‘durability’ which seems to be the main things people like about these

I’m not good with materials? Aside from the headband and some of the connectors, they’re plastic

Huh, that’s an interesting perspective… definitely wasn’t thinking that way but it actually makes sense

Lol unpopular opinion I guess but I actually like the aesthetic build, it’s the utility build that is concerning to me

Makes sense! For me, when I buy a product that’s ‘build quality’ is praised as much as these seem to be, I don’t expect the squeaks and rattles

Yeah, functionally they’re awesome. The sound is super crisp compared to the X2s which seem muddy in comparison

That’s what I’ve heard! I’m assuming they’ll hold up but I was just surprised at how flimsy they seem to be initially.. the X2s feel like tanks compared to the DTs

If I could post a video at this point I would but I’ll try to explain what I mean.. they’re all plastic, which is what it is, but the material holding the ear cups seems thin and pretty flimsy, I can move them around significantly… seems like if I put just a little more pressure on them, the whole thing would come apart

Recently pulled the trigger on the much praised Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro’s after using my Philips X2s for about a month.

I got these primarily for music production since the open backs on the X2s have a lot of sound leak (obviously, they’re open backs).

I was super excited to get these in hand and try them out but compared to the X2s the build quality on these is definitely a step down.

They sounds amazing, don’t get me wrong, but I haven’t seen any posts here mentioning/complaining about the build quality on these things so I wanted to get everyone’s thoughts.

Based on the posts I’ve seen, these things last forever so maybe I just need to sit with them for a while to appreciate them 🤷🏻‍♂️

Edit: to clarify I’ve only had the headphones for 3 days, when I say ‘build quality’ I’m not referring to durability. I’m more so referring to the materials and the overall feel of the cans
