I have been in Corpus for almost two years now, and I love it. Although the campus has its issues, I am so glad I am here. I was originally PSA and planned to transfer to Main Campus A&M, but the atmosphere at this school was different and welcoming. I thought I would end up hating it here, but I feel like I have excelled here. The classes are small enough to have one-on-one interactions, the professors are caring, and most importantly, I have been learning a lot about my degree. I will not lie, there is not a lot of stuff to do on campus, but the beautiful sights of the island make up for it. We are located on our own little island in Corpus Christi, and despite the lack of fast-food restaurants, the school is doing its best with what it has to work with. I love it here, and I am proud to be an islander. Shakas up!
I went here for 4 years and changed my major numerous times. Some professors were great and others were biased and would make your career path difficult to attain just because they didn't like or agree with you. I was in a health program I had to work hard to get into and 1 teacher just didn't like me because I was working full-time and going to school full-time. I was extremely tired as a result, and she would curse under her breath at me if I didn't understand something the first time. It was demoralizing and I ended up having to switch my major to something else at the last moment because of her resulting in a degree I didn't want. So it was disappointing going here. If you are ok with super windy, humid days then it should be fine. Some teachers were good though and I will always appreciate them, but I would never go to this school again personally. Not worth the money or time I spent here. I'm making more money in a completely different field now.
Depending on your personal experience, TAMUCC can be fun and enjoyable or horrible. I like it here, the staff are friendly, and most of the students are as well. I joined a few student organizations which really enhanced my experience here at TAMUCC. It’s an amazing campus, plus it has cats! The atmosphere is great, right by the ocean.
