Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation Reviews
Rating 4.33 out of 5 3 reviews
The program is extremely intense and quick. We are in and out in a year but the amount of resources and knowledge packed in that duration is immense. They bring in renowned and relevant people from across the world to share their research. There is a platform for open discourse in the school that allows for free thought. The classes and design studios offered are unique and interesting, every semester has a wide variety of options. There could be some improvements in the structuring of classes and availability of assistantships for students in the one year degree. It would really help students who need financial assistance.
There are many opportunities to take courses with amazing faculty and a broad line-up of guest speakers. The facilities are lacking. They could definitely do more to give students off-campus access to necessary design programs and more financial support for materials and studio facilities.
I most appreciate how professors and critics genuinely care about the subjects they teach and the growth of their students.
