John S Watching an old lady braid her hair is not interesting. Who is that girl? This movie sucks. She should be happy to retire at 65. Her house is paid for. I don't know what she is crying about. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Kay P Yawwwwn. Boring and vague. And who the heck is Ella? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/20/24 Full Review KB B It was pretty good; definitely a long, slow burn. I kept thinking it would get better. I'd definitely not want to ever watch it again. It just kind of ended too which I severely dislike. Watch if you're really bored and there's nothing better on. 100%...Hmmmmm Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/24 Full Review sheryl c Karen Allen in a stunning performance in an understated movie about ever changing life. The contrast between her and her globe trotting friend intersects at the end as the young friend considers putting down roots. And Karen applies face cream as she considers taking on a new life. Think it most appeals to women of a certain age confronting a fork in the road. This movie is not for men particularly unless they just enjoy anything Karen in. It's a keeper! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Gerard S Beautiful. Moving, and extremely well acted -- often unscripted yet managing to powerfully portray the interior life of its central characters, Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/13/22 Full Review Jim H Quietly told, the pacing gives you time to gaze and contemplate what you're looking at, and over time you learn to expect what people will say and notice how that differs from what they do say, and that's one step you've drawn closer to them. You get to know particularly Nora, but also the people she interacts with. The portrayal is . . . can you imagine "quietly vivid" not being an oxymoron? The people and the cinematography and the unfolding story are quietly vivid, and where you end up is . . . well, I don't have the words for it. But I'm writing this months later because it came to mind, and its grip remains. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/09/21 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Carlos Aguilar Los Angeles Times Occasionally a tad too reflective, Quinn's pacing and controlled conflict requires an adjustment for viewers, but as "Colewell" sinks in, it reveals itself as the cinematic equivalent of a deep exhale after having attained peace within. Dec 5, 2019 Full Review Nick Schager Variety The film's finely crafted serenity is in keeping with its main character's secluded state of affairs, and mind. Apr 15, 2019 Full Review Stephen Farber Hollywood Reporter Although Colewell could have benefited from pruning away some of its eccentricities, it pays eloquent tribute to a woman who fights against a life erased. Apr 15, 2019 Full Review Joanne Laurier World Socialist Web Site Quinn adds a surreal element to the generally sober realism. Aug 5, 2020 Full Review Nathaniel Rogers The Film Experience While it's definitely purely niche in its appeal - it is tranquil, to a fault - but it has an unmistakably cumulative poetic beauty. Dec 19, 2019 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review Colewell is a movie about reflection and our value to the work and ourselves as we get older. I found it deeply, profoundly and unexpectedly moving. Rated: 3.5/4 Dec 13, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
