Alfred K Cold Mountain was a sensational movie! It gave an accurate look of the Civil War from the perspective of the losing side, especially how it impacted the female population. The cast of actors was impressive & the cinematography was breathtaking. I was impressed with many of the supporting actors like the late Philip Seymour Hoffman & Brendan Gleeson (who's singing voice was a surprise). I highly recommend this movie to everyone. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review Alexi P An entertaining epic with an outstanding cast. Cold Mountain is a classic love story that portrays the struggle to overcome adversity and tragedy rather than the tired cliches often invoked by the genre. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review Wiebe B A movie that keeps your interest but not the edge of your seat. An impressively extensive cast with major and minor roles. It's an adventure about the hardships of war and the strength of love and friendship. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/30/23 Full Review Geisiane O História de amor clássica Muito boa Vale a pena assistir! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/23/23 Full Review Jona I Cold Mountain is best as a war epic, but suffers whenever it derails into a soap opera Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/25/23 Full Review Dale B The dialog was attrocious and some over-acting. Horrible accents. I cringed through much of it. Just awful. Read the book--it's good. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Neil Norman London Evening Standard Minghella's movie is stern and lucid for the most part and immensely enlivened by the presence of Zellweger and Hoffman who bring amusement to their roles. Jan 11, 2018 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Excellent but upsetting, only for older teens. Rated: 4/5 Dec 22, 2010 Full Review Time Out If the love story is asked to carry more weight than it can bare, at least this is a film of rich measure and ambition. Jun 24, 2006 Full Review David Walsh World Socialist Web Site This unconvincing "timelessness" is the film's weakest aspect. The work takes the form of a series of disconnected and discrete episodes, without essential inner connection, and becomes somewhat tedious as a result. Feb 15, 2021 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com Minghella fans will be happy. Rated: 3.5/4.0 Sep 5, 2020 Full Review Micheal Compton Bowling Green Daily News While it may not be the best film of the year, it is still a solid effort worthy of most of its pre-release hype.
