THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing. We also discuss the satellite shows Diabolical and Gen V. We are not affiliated with Amazon or Prime TV in any capacity.
Underrated acting performances in The Boys
Everyone always talks about Starr, Urban, and Ackles' amazing performances, but here is my list of incredible and underrated performances throughout the show:
-
Elizabeth Shue as Stillwell
-
Jessie T Usher as A Train
-
Claudia Doumit as Victoria Newman
-
Colby Minifie as Ashley
-
Chase Crawford as The Deep
Some more spectacular performances (but smaller roles)
-
Sean Patrick Flannery as Gunpowder
-
Haley Joel Osment as Mesmer
I am sure there are many others that I am missing but that is my list
Their performances are all so good that we don't see the actors.

I agree about Chace. I like him but The Deep is such a vile character to me, which is a testament to Chace’s acting!
Right? It's clear they don't know what to do with his character but they can't write him out because Chace is just too much fun to watch.
Out-Frescad again
Only halfway through S2 at this point, and The Deep is probably one of the most interesting characters to me. The guy just wants to hang out with his fish friends and probably isn't a terrible person at heart, but nobody takes him seriously and he gets pushed into dark places. And his acting absolutely carries it.
The writing in this show is good but the acting really elevates the show.
Ashley's actress is absolutely amazing and makes you feel scared for a character that is terrible
Don’t forget Karen Fukuhara, she’s gotta do it all without speaking.
Absolutely, both her and Tomer Capone are very talented
I agree.
Charlie Koontz. Small part but he knocked it out of the park. He was the guy that got sucked down the Stormfront pipeline and shot the convenience store cashier.
I don't expect him back on this show, but I hope he gets more work.
“Now this is a man who knows how to marry his cousin!”
That was Garrett, not Fat Neil! That was such a great line though
(I had to look it up to remember too)
Dammit you’re absolutely right
Chace is killing it as Kevin and it honestly makes me angry that he's just a joke character! DO MORE WITH HIM, KRIPKE.
CHACE IS BRILLIANT. HE'S GOT THE ACTING CHOPS. HE CAN DO IT.
LET HIM ACT
I think Karen is incredibly talented, and she gives an amazing performance as Kimiko. She's able to convey so much emotion without even speaking, and for me, she's the second most talented actor in the entire show, right after Antony Starr. It's a shame she doesn't get as much recognition as she deserves.
her name's katana, she's got my back
Colby Minifie is excellent as Ashley.
Shantel VanSanten was excellent as Becca
Jessie T usher in the first season was amazing I mean the writers have their credit but watching this man deal with addiction and go to extremes to protect his status I couldn’t pick a better actor for A-train
Fr, his acting in that scene where he is holding hughies dad hostage is ridiculously good
Yea Crawfish is amazing in every single scene he’s in, Rly rly want more of The Deep in season 4. Ideally more badass scenes too like I get he’s the comic relief idiot but he’s also had years of experience on the 7
Their all so good at acting the first time I saw a photo from the case I was like wtf they hate each other why are they smiling
Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko gets my vote. She has to express every emotion through her facial and body language, and she does it absolutely brilliantly.
Colby Minifie and Jessie T Usher are the best imo after Starr, Urban, Ackles and Crawford
Everyone does such a great job, it comes down to the actor believing in their own character, and they’ve all been characterized so well that it translates flawlessly on screen
Honestly I think everyone of them killed it. This is why I think it’s one of the best shows over the past few years
The entire cast is phenomenal. It’s the only show where I didn’t think any character would be better played by someone else
I agree except for Starlight. Especially after she had plastic surgery she is completely expressionless in her acting
Isn't chace crawford the 3rd most appreciated actor in the boys after starr and urban. Also the actress for becca did a great job
I have never heard anyone praise his acting. I would say Ackles is the third most from what I have seen
Cameron Crovetti as Ryan. Can't wait to see what's in store for him now that he's in the main cast next season.
It is interesting, the kid that they hired originally in the season 1 finale looked a lot more like Homelander. They then switched to Crovetti who looks a lot like Becca imo. I think that Ryan will definitely be more like Becca and eventually turn on Homelander
