Our schools

The City of London Corporation has one maintained primary school, and ten sponsored academies as part of the City of London Academies Trust. It also supports three independent schools.

In its pursuit of educational excellence, the City Corporation has drawn these schools together, collectively known as 'the City of London Family of Schools'. Collectively, the City Corporation, the Family of Schools, and cultural and business partners in the City of London and beyond, deliver a shared vision:

'To prepare people to flourish in the rapidly changing world through exceptional education, cultural and creative learning and skills which link to the world of work'.

In addition to the Family of Schools, there are two schools and one college in the City of London, they are St Paul's Cathedral School, Charterhouse Square School and David Game College.

The City schools are committed to:

  • developing partnerships
  • sharing best practice
  • learning from each other
  • exploring opportunities to become more efficient through greater collaboration.

If you are looking for a school for your child, see the school admissions page for more information and support.

Education and Safeguarding Children

Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play in safeguarding children. Early Years, school and college staff are particularly important as they are in a position to identify concerns early and provide help for children, to prevent concerns from escalating.

Early Years, schools and colleges and their staff form part of the wider safeguarding system for children. They should work with social care, the police, health services and other services to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.

The statutory guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children details how Early Years, Schools and colleges should work with social care, the police, health services and other services to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. Further statutory guidance specifically for schools is in Keeping Children Safe in Education.

COVID-19 Local Outbreak Management

The ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has underscored the importance of working together, in partnership, to respond to outbreaks of infectious disease. In particular, it has highlighted the importance of having a clear plan and of everyone being aware of each other’s roles and responsibilities in the event of a pandemic.

The Schools and Education Settings Standard Operating Procedure document provides information for prevention, mitigation and the control of COVID-19.
